Still was on my own search mode for it, and never went to Aerofiles…

That engine cowling is quite distinctive. Was the engine based on a car?

Sport and/or racing. I'll accept more than one ID.

Is the engine an upright Cirrus, or something bigger?

Yes, the engine was an upright Cirrus in the original aircraft which would be a correct ID. There was one modification with something racier (300 hp), but there is no certainty (as far as I am aware) which one version was pictured.

I presume it was an American Cirrus then, and not the low powered British one.

If it was, then I also assume your challenge was American.

Yes skytrain, it is Emsco B-4 with 85hp Cirrus, but it can also be Rocheville A with the Deeble Double-Action 300hp engine - a modification of Emsco B-4.

Over to you

Yes.

Memsab LM now has to drive a 90 mile return journey each day to work, so she will be using the 155mph serious pusuit ship.

Me? Only 7 miles to work, and out of speed limits for 500 yards.

Estimate 4000 miles per year and around 60 gallons of 95RON per year.

No wonder it has a high mpg. Somebody cut the engine off .
Bet it's faster than your invalid scooter mate............
