Man-portable?
Nope....similar in size to a small light aircraft or homebuild job.

No obvious sensors.

Is it a target drone?

Morning David

Is it a target drone?
No, primarily reconnaissance.

Despite its aircraft like appearance and size it is catapult launched.

European.

Morning Ken,

Just having a coffee and a quick look for your UAV.

The nearest I've found that looks anything like it (and for some reason it came up in a "UAV" search) is a Dyn.aero MCR 4S without the landing gear!!! Any connection, but I'm not hopeful

Oh well, back to work now

'Artnoon Ken.

Very busy today (despite rumour control on another thread) with a very short lunch break.

Is this something from Sagem?

Sorry mste, like you have been a little rushed today.

Not by Sagem....we have had other UAV's from this company on SC.

Afternoon Martin...someone has finally got there....yes, it is an EADS product. Several different models use the same model name, but each one has a separate number. Happy to accept the model name only.

All. I have discovered that I made an incorrect statement in one of my replies. I went searching on the net, and have just found another article from a reliable source regarding this UAV, which states that "it was derived from the Dyn Aero MCR.4S". The original source that I used for my challenge made no reference to this fact, so Trevor, please accept my apologies...you were closer than you thought, and even closer than I thought you were! It explains why the MCR.4S came up in your search.

Evening Ken,

That explains a lot, the similarity seemed uncanny!! I did have a quick look to find a connection but without the EADS part of the equation I didn't find one !

That now unlocks the log-jam and turns up a new (to me) site ! Seems it's the EADS Surveyor 2500

Hi Trevor
Seems it's the EADS Surveyor 2500
It is indeed and sorry once again for sending you off on a different track...certainly not intentional. I only found reference to Dyn Aero whilst looking it up in Flight.

SincoTC has control

No need to apologise Ken,; Dyn.aero seem pretty quiet about it and I couldn't find any mention of the connection on their site!

A good challenge and surprisingly hard to find given its characteristics Although it does seem like the search engines are getting worse (the advanced search facility seems to have vanished from my favourite)!!

This one's not very good, but it's all I have at the moment
