As you say, a gorgeous place, as is the whole Okanagan Valley, but then what would you expect when you see towns with names like Summerland and Peachland?
If you will excuse a bit of thread drift, about 15 years ago I was on vacation in a cabin at the other (North) end of Lake Okanagan. One afternoon, I heard the drone of big pistons and rushed out onto the dock to see what I expected would be a water bomber. Instead, what did I see, cruising slowly down the lake at 500'? The CWH Lancaster. She was transiting between Namao and Abbotsford for the airshow. The crew must have night-stopped at Kelowna or Penticton, because I saw her again the next day, heading north.
