Obviously ex-military now civil using part of the original structure. AEF/UAS chipmunk from Cambridge perhaps looking at the towering terrain thereabouts. My guess is Bourn!

Yes (topical or what!). Mr Grubby's surmise is correct. BEA V806 G-AOYH operating a Malta Airlines service in November '62. This little whiff of nostalgia would have been a hint if required.

I vaguely remember flying out in a RAF Britannia to Nairobi in 1964 as a small boy and stopping - few times I suppose (how far could a Britannia hop?) but think we must have stopped in Benghazi. Interesting pictures.
