It's a typical UK military triangle runway pattern with two thirds of the triangle now steeped in history, it seems there is a busy road, perhaps a motorway, in the background, yet the layout/colour of the buildings don't indicate it being, now, a military airfield likewise the runway markings don't appear to be military.
What is different to many 'triangle' airfields is that this main runway has a taxiway running alongside the length of the runway, kind of like Machrihanish but a busy road, alone, wouldn't fit in with Machrihanish.

Mr G, I'm nigh on 99% certain it's Angelholm in SW Sweden, that is unless it has a doppelganger! Looks like the main north south road in the background.
I recall watching an impromptu single mil aircraft aerobatics display here early one morning - stunning and heart stopping at times, I was relieved when it was over.

Not Northumberland Mr G. It was a satellite of a nearby larger airfield which in civilian use today. The view is looking SW and the coast is 'behind'.
Played it's part in the War in Norway in 1942.
Regdep, I don't know when the quarry was opened.
