"The Freda aerials are a big clue."

I thought it was a crane for lifting the floatplanes out of the water.

Good one.

Freda aerials? Do you mean Freya (the FuMG 80)?

Apologies gentlemen.

Freya not Freda and on much closer inspection it does look like a crane !!

Sorry !

Clint.

It was the proximity of the wind turbine that gave it away. Slept in the car at a KZ rally one year and was so cold went for a drive in the middle of the night to warm up. Went through the turbine farm and found it very eerie.

Open House!!

Correct Tempsford, it is Filton.

I believe BAe did some servicing work on UK based F-111's.

Over to you......

The bigger of the two buildings looks like it's an airship hangar; however, the scale of the aeroplanes, as compared to the hangar, might not support my suggestion.

As far as I can tell, neither buildings are standing.

Tack.

Don't know whether I had a subliminal memory of that image, but looked at it and thought 'USA', might have been the impressive array of fighters and bombers though. After a bit of research:

Bowles Agawam, Massachusetts, west of Boston.

Abandoned & Little-Known Airfields: Western Massachusetts

The 'airship hangar' is a hangar with a central exposed truss roof. The doors are on the long side, not the ends. The farther building is the terminal. Note the unusual runway layout within a circular peri track.

Well as it's now two days since Little cloud identified the last aerodrome and no new post from him, I submit this :-
