Sorry, No. Not Booker (does it have so much tarmac?), nor Greenham, nor Colerne. Right country though. Not fooled by the Austrian Saab.

Good guessing Handsfree, Woodford it is. The Austrian display team visiting for the air show in 77 or 78.

Over to you.

RAF Khormaksar, Aden.
Agree with the 'warm' bit, not too sure about the 'nice' though.

It makes it harder if you don't add the name of the place in the 'Properties' !!!!!

I suspect Brakedwell is far too experienced to include the name in the FTP so perhaps it is a Red Herring. Sharjah/Dubai always seem to have low humidity despite high temps so how about Bahrain?

OK, I failed to remove the name. It's Sharjah, so open house!

Not sure whether this one is thread-compliant - the reason being that I genuinely do not know where it is ! ,I could make some guesses based on whats to be seen but thats as far as i get. . For that reason you get the clues straight away - distinctive control tower, DH.60 Moth and Percival Gull foreground - background Spartan Cruiser of Czech Bata shoe company . All identification subject to correction.

Most convincing evidence gets control.

My "real" mystery aerodrome has been identified as Gravesend by PM . So open house is restored.

Back to the desert theme. This is a photo of a Camel going downwind. Pilot's attire and vegetation should help with the location.

Pic below taken the same day, same airfield. Terminal buildings in the background.
