Grumman G-72 Kitten II possibly - in its original twin tail form?

Not really convinced but its the closest I've found so far!

Hello boys.... just off to the airport.

American? Yes!

Grumman G-72 Kitten II? No, sorry

I will be flying soon, landing 1030GMT and back on SC around lunchtime. Good luck.

By the way, I can't find it in Aerofiles but it is on the web!

Hallo gentlemen,

Looks like ERCO / Forney Ercoupe but why would it then be difficult to find? I know, different back line.....

Or an exotic modification or test type of Downer Bellanca 14-19-3c Cruisemaster / 260C

Good afternoon Reg,

I hope that you're getting on OK, I haven't much time to play today, but I found this at lunch time, maybe you could follow it up, the concensus there was that it was a Max-Holst M-52, which it isn't, but the picture is Martin's Challenge aircraft, could it be a home-built?

Help With Plane ID - AviationBanter

Good luck!

PS. Hope you had a good flight Martin, what's your Lat/Long now?

And Californian hills behind the field....

The AviationBanter thread went through the same process as I.

You said it is not in the Aerofiles. Do you mean the picture isn't or not mentioned at all?

Now someone who knows Aerofiles better than I must help. What would be the attributes of an American aircraft whose description, written in many ways, would mostly return the same designs (as in my earlier guesses and the same of AviationBanter), which would be an one-off but manufactured by (in?) a company (not a home-built) but is not mentioned in Aerofiles at all. A concept aircraft, not considered a "prototype"? A concept aircraft of a designer who worked for a company and did something else for his main job? I tried to look names who worked with the "usual suspect" (see above) companies, the last was Otto C. Koppen, but to no avail.

Thanks Sinco, and thank you gentlemen for your kind wishes.

I am back, well and fit.

Off the thread I would say: gentlemen, get your colon examined when over 50. Where I live, the basic health insurance system foots prophylactic coloscopies for all who want and are over 55.

This one of mine resulted in a proximity warning only; the latest one three years ago was a near loss, and I needed to come back via the repair shop.

Do it. Just Do. If you want more encouragement, please feel invited to PM me.

Reg

You're very welcome Reg and thanks for the good advice! BTW, a belated Happy Birthday, if I'm correct in thinking that your counter has incremented since the last time I noticed it

Just finishing a hasty coffee break, so can't stay, but a couple of questions for RR, was the manufacturer a "known brand" i.e. did they make other readily identifiable aircraft, or would the name be "new" to us? Also, a year (or thereabouts) would be really helpful for this elusive little bugger!!

Been out and about all day so just catching up.

Not being in Aerofiles doesn't exactly help but there again, as I have found before, Aerofiles does not cover everything or even every variant. One thing I will ask - is the manufacturer in Aerofiles? I'm assuming it didn't go into production?

Thanks Sinco. You must be correct in that my counter has incremented since the last time you noticed it, however, my bithday was almost two months ago . But honestly, I am moved that you mentioned it.

Skytrain, RR confirmed my assumption that it was an one-off.

Not really a "brand" but known, yes. They have made other aircraft but under different organisational names. I'll try to find the year but it was the 1950s

Did not enter production Skytrain - only one built

Don't take my response too literally. It was made by a government organisation essentially that exists today under another name.
