oozat TC?
I'm shocked LM, have you never heard of that expletive, or the eponymous spoilt brat and his rather ill-timed pee in the fireplace? Obviously far too mild for a fighter pilot

gordon bennett

The Ponnier racer was designed by Albert Pagny. It was built for the 1913 Gordon-Bennett race (Last Day of the Coupe Internationale) to be held in France at Reims. It was a stumpy monoplane of 23ft 6in span powered by a twin row rotary Gnome engine.

Shortly after the race the Ponnier was unofficially timed at 230 km/hr

Just off now, almost cleared the backlog of crap caused by the outage!

Cheers

This is a great thread for a non-native English speaker like yours truly. I had to wikipedize Gordon Bennet to find its disambiguation page leading to the entry for James Gordon Bennet Jr. and there a sentence
Bennett's controversial reputation has been thought to have inspired, in the United Kingdom, the phrase "Gordon Bennett" as an expression of incredulity
and the reasons of it becoming a famous exclamation/expletive... .

Corse I no Gordon B.

There is also a quaint village in Yorkshire called Kinnell......

...which just about describes an OH which has been up for so long.

I will not respond, since I owe Graeme one, so maybe the Wizard of Oz will be online shortly.

Oi Graeme, an Open House.......AN OPEN HOUSE MATE...

Morning Graeme....my initial thought was a Bartel with that wing arrangement, then I dived into a certain book and found a photo of a PWS-5 on a practice message pick-up run.....so I'm guessing its a PWS-5!

Thanks Graeme.....shame there isn't a decent one that goes beyond 1939....or at least I have yet to find one if there is. Hope you've had a good day?

Here's a nice little plane:

Morning to you Ken.

Do you mean it is Canadian/Alaskin or it's utilised in those areas?

I feel like Jason Voorhees, but my first stab would be the American Just Aircraft Highlander...

(Is Alaskin a real word?)

Second stab, missing all vital organs and not incorporating your clue, would be the Australian Aircraft Kit Hornet STOL...

Hi Graeme

Do you mean it is Canadian/Alaskin or it's utilised in those areas?
It is from Canada/Alaska, so that rules out the Australian Aircraft Hornet

Just Aircraft Highlander.
Not that either.

Of course I'm assuming it's a homebuilt...
You assume correctly.

To help you along this is NOT a new aircraft.

Hi skytrain10,
I think it could operate on floats and/or skis and surely on big tundra wheels.
The a/c first flew 1957 and was damaged beyond repair in 1974. It had the wings/flaps of a Boeing L-15 and registration was N4775C and it was a one-of-a-kind homebuilt
and the name is Lawhorn LA-2 Kee Bird (I think).

Well done Walter, it is the Lawhorn Kee Bird . You've given it the potted history so all I need to add is this:

You have control.
