Bonjour à tous
It's not Siemens-Schuckert , but ,you are right ,the cowling looks much like a SSW one ,
By the way ,it was not the first time the builder could be connected with SSW.

Green's book will not be of any help
Hmmm...Reconnaissance/ground attack...?
I'll start with the Albatross L 76...or maybe the Heinkel HD 17 ?
G'day Ken!
Not sure about this one...but possibly the Heinkel HD 41a ? Then we must include the HD 41b. The Focke-Wulf W 7 ? (poor photo of that one...)
Whoops...probably into the 1930's now...

Graeme....the FW-W7 had equal span wings...or at least the one photo I have found of it has! Not sure on the Heinkel HD41 models....need to find some decent photo's but from recollection don't they have a fatter fuselage?
Sticking to the Albatross L68 for time being.....!

Morning David.
Looking at it again the wing struts seem to tie up, as do the flaps, and there is reference to the L68d model (1 produced) with a Sh-III engine and four bladed prop, however, looking more closely the undercarriage does not match.....so its back to the drawing board.....

Well Ken,
I now have three photographs. The stuts do tie up, as do the interconnected ailerons.
Flaps you say....?
Something doesn't look right about the front gear strut though. I would stick with the courage of your convictions and get another challenge ready.
Is this one of the pics that you have?

Sorry for answering so late ,I was in my garden ,preparing fire-wood for the next winter.
CONGRATULATION Skytrain10 ,you are right :
It's a rare very good picture of the ALBATROS L 68d trainer ,not even in HISTAVIATION
You have the control .
Thank you all for participating
Richard
By the way ,the L 68 version were very different from each other :
L 68 and L 68a were designed by Schubert ,L 68 c,d,and e by Blume .

Thanks Richard...I was doubtful at the end since the 3-view I had found showed a different arrangement for the main gear, and it appeared much squatter than in your photo. But of course the 3-view was for the L68a, which as you say was somewhat different from the L68d.
And thanks David for supporting my suggestion!
An excellent challenge.
Not sure how long this will last.....
