I have a "Midwest Microlites HM-81 Tomcat Tourer" from the 80's, but it has wheels. Maybe a floatplane version?

Sleep well mate.

Owza sleeve Reg? Fighter pilot or bomber pilot?

Remember, all of you - nobody is ever alone with a fighter pilot at their side. Fear no-one and nothing!!!

Rubbish!

It's all about s p e e d.

Notice that lead is airborne and number two is still on the ground.

Please pay homage to Adolf Galland above - not a Nazi!

What did he have to say when you met him?

What did he have to say when you met him?
Lots.

He was amazed that we could fly the Lightning and could not envisage Mach 2.

He also said that the Spitfire did not frighten him because it was fast but had no real turning performance.

He was wary of the Hurricane in a turning fight though. No speed but a nice thick wing and eight guns like the Spitfire.

He was not impressed with our "varm" English beer!

Really nice guy!

By the way,

I mourned the passing of Adolf Galland more than that of Douglas Bader.

Good evening HappyPass.

Was it Galland in the anecdote about Goering when (Galland) told that the first fighter had been shot down East of Rhine?

Goering got completely upset and said: "It is not true! I order it not to be true!" To which Galland, very politely, and with a very subtle smile bowed and replied, "As you order, Herr Marschall."

I think that is an American project.
It is not, Mate.
