May be, it was a little bit difficult. Here is another pic from the airport. The old apron was on the north side, upper side of the pic.

Date - hmm mid 50s - but another wild guess is that the date might be a significant clue......

Mel has it. I agree that the caption on the photo had it as departing but I think it could be arriving. The engineer seems to be walking towards the aircraft which I find unusual if it was departing.

Next Challenge

Thanks for that Flap40. I tried a search on Google regarding this event and a reference came up stating that HM the Queen arrived for the opening ceremony in a DH Heron but when I tried to log on I discovered access was not possible due to either a fault or a problem with my firewall.
