Shoot, that's an Eastern DC3 & poster but where the heck is .......CIPAL Airport.

PRINCIPAL AIRPORT, but where the .....................can't be Tri-Cities looks to late for that.

Surely its the well known US ????? Municipal Airport ? Just which one is a bit tricky ?
I do note the introduction of fuzzy logic into airline names on aircraft ! mmm, and the large black blobs, that luckily never caught on !
Also a DC-3 with "air stairs" !
And lots of guys wearing big hats !

I think those are to differentiate the doors from the plate glass windows.

You're all in the right area but not Idaho, not Nevada, not Utah.

The State does have a very strong aviation connexion though.

bri, I felt sure that was a Union Flag flying from the gargoyle tower.

Assuming your answer rules out The Rock, that narrows the flag down to Ontario or BC. I suspect maybe the former.

Sorry, not Newfoundland; Ontario; nor British Columbia. Yes, it is the Union Jack flying over a hangar that reeks of history.
Here is a shot of the same, (exact registration and type), aircraft on floats.
