I am sure you have checked Google but the following from http://www.kotfsc.com/aviation/firefly.htm suggests that all Mk 9s were modified 4s and 5s for remote control as targets
The first production Griffon 59-powered Firefly AS.Mk 7 was flown in October 1951, this reintroducing the beard radiator that had caused problems with the sole Mk Ill. Intended as an ASW aircraft accommodating two radar operators, few Fireflys AS.Mk 7s were built as such, the majority being completed as Firefly T.Mk 7 ASW trainers within a Mk 7 production of 151. Later conversions to pilotless target aircraft were carried out by Fairey, these including 34 Firefly U.Mk 8 aircraft converted from Firefly T. Mk 7s, and 40 similar Firefly U.Mk 9 conversions from Mk 4 and Mk 5 aircraft. They were used for missile development, and by the Royal Navy as targets for its Firestreak-armed fighters and Seaslug-carrying ships.

Piasecki HUP-3 (Retriever)
"As for that clattery Piasecki thing..."
This aircraft arrived in US Army colours at RCNAS Shearwater in Dartmouth NS in May 1954. After being given a paint job it eventually became part of HU-21 (Helicopter Utility Sqdn.).
The photograph was possibly taken whilst this aircraft, as part of HU-21 Detachment 2, was operating from the Arctic Patrol Vessel HMCS "Labrador" which in 1955 was supporting construction of the Canadian/US DEW line in Northern Canada.
Originally it was numbered 947 but on 1/6/55, when "Labrador" sailed from Halifax for Hudson Bay/Foxe Basin, the number was changed to 247. It remained with the ship together with two Bell HTL-4 machines until late November and operated more or less continuously in that period sometimes in very bad weather conditions. "Clattery" it may have been but it was a very good helicopter.

You will have noticed that 'evansb' great pictures are no longer on the thread.
Quite simply they have been removed by him because they are "copywrite" (yeah I know!)
This leads me to say to anyone. That he has not been prompted to do it but he has clearly decided, for whatever reason, to remove them.
I am really peeved that this thread has been carved up by this but he is right in one respect, PPRuNe does not allow pictures, or anything, to be displayed that is copyrighted to a third party.
There were 115 pictures that have been removed and I have to spend some more time to remove others.
