P.S. OF, like the passing-out parade photo - would like to have seen the same scene about 3 - 4 minutes later after the flypast.

The Group Captain was John Smith. He was my Station Commander at Marham. He was not impressed.
I had MY hat on for the interview!
Cheers.

I think she is a SARO A.19 Cloud. Lovely photograph. Here is a rare colour photograph of a Consolidated P2Y-2.

Thanks for that one, I remember her well. It was one of the perks at Calshot,on completion of conversion onto the Sunderland,We had a day at Cowes, conducted tour and lunch at the factory.Made even the Sunderland look like a midget.Pity they could"nt find suitable engines.

Mr Evans,Sir,
Now you have excelled. In 1938,Imperial Airways produced a model of the Mayo & Mercury. It had interior lights and all eight props could be set running.I was a boy of nine.My father obtained one for me.It was my pride and joy.In 1940 the Luftwaffa sent a bombing raid to destroy the Supermarine works, where the Spifire was designed and produced. Our house was half a mile away and destroyed by incendaries, bloody awful bomb aimers!!
Sadly my model also..plus a lot of my fathers memorabilia.Would give a lot now, for it to have survived. Thanks again.
