'Len the plough'
Tilleydog1,
No it was taken at Lavenham on the day she flew in from Biggin Hill. Leonard (The Plough) Cheshire had a go at taxi-ing her later that year and ended up with one main wheel off the taxiway. We had to tow him out with a half-track thing. 1968 I think. Maybe '69, I'd have to dig out the slides and check the date.

Why do so many of the earlier posts only have Photobucket placeholders. Have a bunch of photos been removed by Photobucket or have the posters removed them and not repaired the links?
i am sure there are some wonderful photos hiding there somewhere.
i also see several posts that should have photos in them but only have blank space ???

The Sea Fury T.20 belogned to the Fleet Air Arm Historic Flight at Yeovilton, who wrote it off in a take-off accident some years ago. The remains went to the US where it was fully rebuilt, and it is now back in the UK.

AFB Ysterplaat 2008
Africa Aerospace and Defence airshow at AFB Ysterplaat, Cape Town, a few weeks ago.
The Lightning broke the sound barrier at 15,000 feet.
An air show spokesman said they received numerous complaints.
"We just wanted to demonstrate what it sounds like to break the sound barrier. It has two distinct noises, one after the other."
(I didn't take the pictures.)
