Bonza has its AOC
So ABC says Bonza has further CX its DN to CG service till March due to ‘regulatory approval process’ hindering them with aircraft and crew. So what gives……I thought that had all been sorted……Has Flair done any work yet? Deano, what’s going on?
"We want to be certain that we can provide a service that is reliable and to a standard that we're proud of," ...
"Operating the Gold Coast-Darwin route prior to March would mean that we'd be putting a strain on our current capacity and we owe it to our customers and our Bonza legends to learn from our previous missteps by putting measures in place so that we can deliver reliable low cost air travel."

Thanks Mick for your observation on the new round of cancellations. But what does the new quote really mean, behind the PR spin ?
a) Everything is under control. Trust us.
or
b) Despite resolving our earlier regulatory approval process difficulties, we still managed to stuff up.

“Not enough crew” LOL, plenty happy to head down under to warm up so to speak, reality is OOL-DRW in off peak months is a no goer, as evidenced by the published numbers of customers affected by the cancellations. Even DPS doesn’t get much love this time of year from Darwininans, just ask JQ!
This mob are making Strategic and Jetgo look like roaring successes!

If Darwin was so bad, why are they still serving Sunny Coast ?
With their fleet of 6 covering 214 sectors per week or 5 per day for each bird one would think that they are fairly well maxed out, pardon the pun

It’s difficult to make predictions, especially about the future. Timing aside, Bonza is doing its best to alienate its already too-small customer base while getting plenty of free publicity. Who knows how much longer they will last?

Is it true Bonza are desperate for cabin crew ?. Any truth to the rumour some QLD cabin crew were temporary transferred to VIC and accommodated at a Caravan Park.
Why is that? Not enough airconditioners in Darwin?
Sounds like the boys and girls from CASA and Transport Canada need to play a few rounds of golf and sort things out before this temp 3 month waiver expires.
Say no to Qatar Say Yes to Turkish Airlines.
The whole thing is a farce.. Yes, i'm sure CASA boys having to deal with 777 Partners would make anyone want to pick up a knife.

BTW CASA has nothing to do with which airlines have the right to fly passengers to Australia.
To the poster that said they alienating their customer base, hmmm.. Wizz and Ryanair have been doing that for decades. Yet they make way more money that the full service cairriers. Have you seen the Wizz U.K AOC cancelation rate over the last 14 months? They pay their cabin staff slave wages so they don't bother to turn up for work.
That's the modus operandi of LCC, treat your staff and customers like sh*t, yet somehow the planes are full and they keep coming back, and you're making the big bucks.
But who would have thought Albury to Sunshine and Gold Coast was a goer? That's what an LCC does, throw darts at the board and hope enough of them land.

And the LCC game is volume driven. RyanAir has access to relatively huge market segments, that they ply with a very efficient operation. The Bonza model is not even vaguely comparable.
As to how Bonza will fare longer term, as the Zen Master was fond of saying, "We'll see."

As Australopithecus recently observed,
On that basis, I am always prepared to be surprised.
