DCA, DOT ATG, CASA and one looks at overseas equivalents they still use the same names eg FAA, CAA etc etc
Most of the overseas equivalents have had a change of name or two over the years. The FAA in the US was originally the Federal Aviation Agency before being renamed to the Federal Aviation Administration; so a name change but not a change to the initialism. Prior to the Federal Aviation Agency there was the Civil Aeronautics Administration.

In the UK, prior to their Civil Aviation Authority there was the Air Registration Board.

At least part of the change with CASA was splitting out the ATC accountability to Airservices Australia.

Your clearly not across APS standards these days, start time is flexible from 7AM as is the finish time up to 7PM, let’s not mention flexis and half price twilight golf at the federal https://federalgolf.com.au/social-golf/, whilst their colleagues at Air Services prefer the short stroll to Casino Canberra at Twilight on occasion.

It's December 9th, 2023. Thousands of Aussies have currently had their family and Christmas plans ruined. Are the 'good ol boys' and the young MBA grads with no aviation experience at CASA on holiday or not? Golf, Coffee, Porn, Birthday Cakes, Office Banter, Whiskey, what's my password again, what is this program Microsoft Outlook?

No worries sometime in Feb 2024 We'll get back to you Bonza and Flair.

or Tim and the boys and girls at the Outback Steakhouse office were a bit late in filing and expecting the ghost of the billabong to sort it out!

Probably easier to blame the regulator than an inept airline management that seems way out of their depth trying to run an airline that has 3 seperate bases with only 4 aircraft.

The Bonza 737 with the green engines (C-FLKC) is on its 4th left-hand circuit to Rwy 13 at Sunny Coast, done a couple of right-hand, must be famil rides for the new crews?

The circuits are a bit non-standard, flying over areas they don't normally cross. Doesn't worry me as an aviator, but some NIMBYs might be complaining soon.

Clearly their airwork bookings weren't cancelled an hour before ETD, I wonder if they got the usual bollocking from the Tower and it made clear their circuits are not welcome at Gold Coast International Airport?

The story in a nutshell.
Bonza Airline planned to use two aircraft from Canadian budget carrier Flair Airlines and took airfares from passengers Ė but the airline had not gained approval from the regulator Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

Not sure what else you expect when looking at tickets on the same day, with that day being the busiest travel day in the holiday period this year...... Welcome to capitalism and the free market.
