What rock have you been hiding under? Shorthaul’s last payrise was in 2011. It feels like a 3 year pay freeze already. I’m not seeing the vast majority of anyone doing squat to change it.
So what have you in mind cesspool? Red ties or sternly worded PA’s. Maybe another visit to Monty Python’s flying circus to get some other ideas, the last ones were corkers.

Do you think the Red ties and PAs might send AJ over the edge?

Pilots will have the opportunity to voice their opinions with a LH EBA survey.

Each one to their own.

I for one, will not give them a LH Pay freeze for more of the same.

Those drinking the cool aid will tell you a pay freeze will give you job security.

That's bu))$/-t.

Have a look at the Chinese carriers. 18k USD per month net and commute from NZ or Aus.

Guys(and gals),

Its all about management's divide and conquer principles.

Keep that in the back of your mind, and FFS, stick together!

MC, don't forget Shorthaul is already well into for a pay freeze as their EBA long over.
Redpanda, you are so right, we are soon to have long haul, short haul, and Jetstar all in a PIA period!

There is no point negotiatig with QF, you cannot trust them as they have conclusively demonstrated to the Engineers.

Cobham may not be owned by QF, but rest assured they are subject to cost reduction pressures just like every bode else. They have gone back to 3 cabin crew on the East Coast, QF are directly interfering with Cobham's fuel planing (not a drop more than flight plan fuel is to be carried) and you can bet your house that pay freezes will be on the cards come EBA time. If Cobham doesn't agree to these cost cutting demands, QF can choose not to renew the contract. It's not all rosy over here either.

Divide and conquer? Absolutely! Stick together guys and girls, or he gets his way.

Recall the introduction of the new Engineering Maintanix system was a one off cost of over $300M.

AJ has invested $33M into JQ HKG with another $33M top up soon.

They are loosing $4M a week cause of parked A320's.

They have a higher fuel bill cause they have failed to send new aircraft to mainline, instead to Asian franchises.

The reported loss was only $252M.

And they want me to subsidise their failed strategies by taking a pay freeze.

I'm seeing honest hardworking colleagues around me demoted because Alan has failed to invest and grow the mainline business.

I recall AJ stating sometime ago, never let a crisis go to waste.

Sorry Alan. I'm not taking a pay freeze for more of the same or to subsidise failed ventures.

MC.

Elaine is a compulsive gambler. He has really never lost, which simply reinforces the behaviour and, IMHO is why he has the disease so badly.

Any cent provided to him through savings, or gifted (by govt. or shareholders/investors) will be wasted. I would suggest it will only exacerbate the problem.

You do not give a gambler money, just like you keep heroin away from a junkie.

http://english.alarabiya.net/en/busi...-Emirates.html

“Emirates has bypassed equity investments in bigger and more successful airlines than Qantas, so what makes Qantas think they are so special that Emirates will invest in their loss-making business?”

Ahmad said that management changes at Qantas would be more beneficial than foreign investment.

“Even if the Qantas Sale Act is changed, where exactly are the cash-rich investors that want to buy into Qantas? Qantas’ credit rating is at an all-time low and represents atrocious value,” he said. “I don't think investment is the issue… If Qantas wants to survive, it needs to change – and that change has to start at the very top.”

Nice flight sim pictures, but your message would be better conveyed in a 30-word message

In regards to the Shorthaul contract, its pretty much give us some deal soon or we will go to Fair work, either way its win, so dont stress. Idiots make announcements, workers always win. Simple.

So was there an announcement on Thursday?
I think last business day before ANZAC day has been used before.

I think things will be quiet for a while now until about 4-6 weeks prior to the full year profit/loss/Jetstars' world domination announcements then AJ's Flying circus will be ramped up to full roar again.

And where was AJ in the Group photo with Tony Abbott and other Australian business leaders the other day? I don't think he was even invited.

Says it all really.

It's a very strange way to ' manage' a company.

As you said, 'business leaders'. He doesn't fit that criteria really does he?
