Fruitloop - where did you hear that? There was a TT A320 down at the VA MJB but I think that has something to do with the VA Engineers getting type rated on the A330 and using the A320 for some of the certification...

'bagus' what do you mean getting dirtier ? It couldn't get any dirtier it's already a now very fractured industry with multiple problems at all levels, dirty doesn't even fit the title anymore of what's wrong with the aviation industry here in this so called lucky country!!
I really feel for the engineers they must have such an uncertain future, pretty much the same for most industries these days.
The 'top' problem these days is that the aviation business is there purely for one reason, to feed the fat cats at the top & the share holders, the latter to return the best $$$ at ANY cost.
The benefits of jobs, OTP & good 'ole fashion service is at the bottom of the fat cats lists due to the now high level of management to employees disengagement level!

I haven't noticed any income from my airline shares so I don't think that the industry is feeding me anything.

Fruitloop:
Just where would BAE or KORR find A320 LAME's/AME's with current A+B check experience? My guess is JHAS would have the most up to date A320 family experienced guys in OZ. And now they are being opened up to the market, so I'm sure BAE would have some experienced LAME's on their side of the fence by now?

Interesting point to note. If JQ takes the A320s that JHAS does now, and BAE take the Tiger A320s that JHAS does now, isn't that a clear case of transmission of business? And if so any JHAS guys that go to either JQ, Corr, or BAE, by law have their current employment conditions protected to a "no less favourable" position?

JHAS Line Maint in Sydney have just picked up the contract for daily Vietnam Airlines A330 transits from AMSA.

Seems like they are throwing everything they can at Line work.

Jetstar Heavy Maintenance is done by ST Aerospace in Singapore. JHAS didn't do heavy maint for Jetstar in Australia.
JHAS just did A checks, Adhoc and overnite maint for Jetstar.

Okay. So is the amount of work that was carried out at JHAS small enough to be absorbed in the Jetstar network or is there a need for the A checks etc to be relocated some where else ?
Did not realize St Aero played such a major role. Am I right to draw the conclusion that the Newcastle base is primarily window dressing ? No disrespect to those at Newcastle.

Newcastle carries out Heavy maint too. The hangar only fits one A320 at a time.
Jetstar has recruited Korr to create a team that is comprised of 100% Korr employees to carry out all the work that JHAS was doing. A checks, Adhoc and overnite maint that Jetstar line cannot handle.
Rumor is the govenment is even supporting Korr/Jetstar to set up thus new venture over at the Qantas hangars in Melbourne.
More will be known in the coming weeks I suspect.
