Nope!. Haven't got an email yet. Application still under review. Does this mean I may get an invite or no one has told me I've failed?

Where were the assessment centers last year, just Sydney and Melbourne?
I believe just Sydney and Melbourne.

Thumbs up

For those of you who have received knock backs, don't think it's the end of the world. I've flown with quite a number of pilots over the years who were knocked back from the Qantas cadetship only to subsequently get into Qantas. Stick at it and work hard. This industry does on occasion reward those who do the hard yards and put in.

Good luck to all.

Does anyone here have any experience with assessment days?
Yeah, I attended last year.

What sort of questions will they ask in the interview?
A mixture of your generic HR questions and some theory questions. The theory questions are very basic.

What sort of group activity would you have to do?
The group is given a scenario and must find a logical way to solve it.

Has anyone been invited to a Sydney interview day yet? Status is still under review and I haven't heard of anyone from Sydney being invited yet. But no rejections yet either after the psychometric stage.

I hope not It'd be nice to know one way or another, getting anxious now, knowing invites are out for at least Melbourne.

Either way I'll be flying in the flight deck with you all one day.

My son is attending the assessment day. Anyone have any idea what the individual presentation is about (is that meant to be your looks/appearance, or do they actually get you to present something on the day)?

Also, for the flight grading part, is it just a hand eye co-ordination test (there is no mention of aviation type maths questions/aviation related aptitude tests which are common for most other pilot cadetships)?

Hey just a quick question, is your son attending Sydney? I've been reading some if the other guys posts about not hearing about Sydney's interviews?

Congratulations to your son on getting through to the next stage.
It is about appearance. It's about dressing smart, it is a formal interview after all.
I hope he does well.
Good luck!

Do they actually get you to present something on the day?
Last year we had to do a speech in front of our group.

Are you able to elaborate on the theory questions? Would this be the sort of info found in the bak textbook or would it be more general knowledge?
BAK stuff. Think of things like "why is an aerofoil shaped the way it is?"

How many people attended your assessment centre? And how many of those do you think got offers?
Twenty attended. And an additional 20 attended another assessment centre in a different city. Eight were selected.

Is it a presentation about yourself or would you have to study a topic then make a presentation on it?
It is about yourself.
