For those that found contacting the Liberal Party amusing, can now see from a article "in the tend to be on the right" Murdoch press, that that is the right way to go. Put aside your own voting preferences, and go for the party that is more likely to support you. As I said before if you were wharfies, the Labor Party will support you, but you are considered elitists, so you have a snow flakes chance in hell of Labor giving you much joy, that goes for both Qantas pilots and engineers. Hell will freeze over before you get that much sympathy in the Fairfax press, so again, get in touch with your local Lib MP, explain your cause, ask for backing and help, write emails to Niki Savva and Dennis Shanahan (Both journos The Australian) because you are about to play with the big boys if this escalates, and you need all the help you can get. The article written in the Murdoch press yesterday would have had to been passed by the Editor, so you have a friend. Use it. And for Christs sake get rid of that staff travel stuff, that can be sorted out later, it is truly inflammatory.

I forgot to mention that it was as most of you know, a Labor Govt. that brought down the 89ers, not a CEO, not a down turn in the economy, not a takeover, but a govt that turned on its own people to satisfy one of their capitalist mates (Abeles). And yes and most of us would admit, we were babes in the woods and walked right into it. PLEASE learn from that, yes it is a entirely different dispute, yes it is twenty years on, but it involves Pilots once again, many in the Liberal party at that time batted for us, but it was to late, you have a chance of getting them on side BEFORE anything happens, use it. I don't care if you think Gillard is the second coming, you must use every avenue you have, it is imperative to getting some success in your endeavors to achieve a good outcome, otherwise....................................

teresa, thank you for your sage advice. We have learnt much from the politics & cronyism of 89, the asset stripping of Ansett by Murdoch, the attempted looting of Qantas by Geoff Dixon, David Coe et al APA bid as well as the deregulation & destruction of the industry in the US by the predator class (executives). Some of us have studied the GFC and watched the wholesale destruction of the middle & working classes in the US, UK, Greece, Ireland, Spain & Portugal by the top 0.1%, first by inflation, then deflation.

In short, we know exactly what is going on, theft, plain & simple. There is a direct attempt to transfer the wealth of one group to another by nefarious methods. We know the motivation, we have seen almost all the methods.

The microscope is now on the executives, every single move is being watched intensely. The previous methods relied on the relative nativity of the targets to the true motives. This is no longer true, and the unions & workers in general appear to be well aware of it, and are much more sophisticated in their approach. There is no longer a fig leaf for the executives to hide behind.

Good Breakfastburrito, I only wish we had had the insight and Knowledge to play the game, instead of being so naive, and poorly lead. It is your leaders now that have to play the same game, this time hopefully with success.

When AIPA speak to the media, perhaps they should drop the 'Capt' and go with a more humble 'pilot representative'

Whilst I agree that it its a mark of respect and it is a longstanding achievement and in the right place it use is important (on-board the plane 'this is your Captain' is very reassuring) But its use in the papers just seems a tad overbearing (not that I'm trying to insinuate anything about Woodward or Jackson, I have the greatest respect for them.)

Remember public support and perception are important. Some Families a whining and moaning about the freezing of the indexing FBT. Others are living on $50,000. Buisness men don't want to have their travel interrupted for some 'Prima Donnas' on $500k pa. Until the pay claim is dropped the 26% pay rise explained in simple terms by AIPA the PR campaign is dead in the water.

Can someone draw a cartoon of a Kangaroo with a Leprechaun in its pouch?

Caption : "Get this idiot out of here!"

Qantas - we don't call Australia home.

Qantasia

Qantlingus

Qantas - the pot of gold at the end of leprechauns rainbow.

Mummy, can you get pregnant from anal sex? Of course dear, thats how Qantas managers are born.

Is it true that Qantas is removing seats and making passengers stand like another Irish run airline?

Is it true that Qantas will charge for toilet use like another Irish airline.

Is it true that Qantas is hiring Irish pilots?

Is it true that Qantas is replacing the red kangaroo on its tail with a Chinese Panda because the Chinese think the Kangaroo is a dirty animal?

Is it true that all Qantas maintenance is being moved overseas to third world countries?

Is it true that the Board has directed that no Australians are to be hired except for customer service positions to give the illusion that the aircraft are maintained and flown by real Australians?

Is it true that Qantas is building an English language training academy in Asia to make its recruits sound like Australians?

Has Air Services and the ATSB voiced safety concerns over the poor English speaking ability be Qantas contractors?

Is it true that Qantas has opened an African recruitment office?

Was an Indian Qantas cadet caught by CASA with fake qualifications?

Is it true that the wives of Qantas executives go on free shopping trips to London Paris and New York every few months - flying Qantas first class, paid for by the airline?

Is it true that Qantas managers and their friends are given a black card that allows them to travel anywhere in the world first class for free whenever they want?

It it true that long serving politicians are also given the Qantas free travel black card for helping the airline when in office?

Is it true that good looking Qantas female cabin crew have been fired for not being "attentive" enough to managers "special" needs?

Is it true that an Australian Qantas engineer saved an Aircraft from crashing when he discovered that Asian workers had substituted wooden dummies of critical parts for the metal ones and then sold them for scrap?

...............Over to you. Just focus on the vices, including xenophobia, of the average person. You won't be disappointed.

It would be great if one of the media outlets could run a poll:
If the Board of Qantas has its way, would you like the Flying Kangaroo on the tail of Qantas aircraft replaced by.
1. The Merlion from Singapore
2. The Panda from China

TG is writing some good stuff here...but I don't think many of you are really listening! And the reason why?...because you're all up yourself and think you know better than we did back in 89!
Believe me, you will go down the gurgler big time unless you sharpen up!!

funnyguyinalittlecoat. There is a facebook page which is slowly gathering momentum. Search facebook for 'Qantas PIA'. there is a group you can join or a community you can like. They are essentially the same thing.

Anyone can join, this is a page to support Qantas people partaking in PIA as a place for you voice to be heard, especially setting the record straight re lies in the media.

...and that suggestion is a total waste of time!
Get real, get sophisticated or get crucified!
Your choice!
