I don't think there are any Greeks who have the money for gifts!

Just a simple look at their website will show you the minimum requirements. The time it took you to write that post it would of been quicker for you to look it up yourself.

I know they do still hire people with experience but can't exactly enlighten you as to what they are looking for. It certainly not a silly question because I can assure you that having the minimums and submitting an application is no guarantee of getting an interview.

I have been waiting on the Jetstar hold file for more than 18 months.

It is interesting to note that people that went for interviews about 6 months ago are already in sim/groundschool.

It can only point to one of two things, collusion between Jetstar and the CP of my current airline. Or incompetent HR recruitment staff;

What ever happened to the investigation between the collusion of C.P's and jetstar recruitment? all quite now!?

It is a complete farce, to have spent clost to $1600 to get that job (flights, interviews, hotels, tests, sim etc) and then have these cluster F's in recruitment not answer your emails or return your calls.

I now have a way better job, and on way more money than that place could ever offer, so it works out in the end, however, what a waste of time.

I know why it has a nickname "Crapstar".

good luck for those that never got the fudge around

Blueberry,
You should feel comforted that it cost JQ between 2 and 3k to interview you. So you owe them.

If you find a bill in the mail, tear it up mate.

It is possible they rank you in the hold file (I think mainline used that system) and they didn't need to sink as low as your number to fill the spots? Its not always first in into the hold file, first into the job
I highly doubt that. My opinion is they most likely just dropped my file behind a desk :-)
and the other is they did call my employer and they stopped it. Which has happened in the past.

It does not matter anymore, I was just shedding the light on it as I though it was a complete farce.

Are any of the QLink drivers getting interviews at Jstar now that the former Jstar CP is now Cp at Jlink?

Lil Blueberry....sounds like, from Jetstar's perspective, 2 or 3k VERY well spent.

Hard one to say BM, as the CP handover is in progress.

Having said that, the small but steady stream of Qlink Capts and FO's going to J* hasn't diminished.

DIVOSH!

No doubt the incumbent MFO at QLINK will move on to the mothership and through his weight around there like he has done for the last 14 years, and the protege will stamp his own "style" on the troops. These people are all the same, they don't know what they don't know.
Narcissistic management style 101. Works every time, just ask Geoff

I fail to understand what it is about the ex JQ syd MFO you experts dont like. He seemed very reasonable in dealings with him. I feel he was getting frustrated at JQ trying to modify the culture there to reflect a more professional airline. It certainly needs a change. The f/o's have little respect for their cpts as they demand their cmd now. If only they new how management viewed this behaviour as not suitable for cmd. NM was a very good fleet manager in my opinion.

Geez, they must love the MOU guys coming over from Qantas then, sounds like a nice working environment.

And the working environment of a stagnant Qantas F/O is nicer?

Bit off topic but could any DRW based FOs who've joined Jetstar recently give me an idea via PM me how the rosters and work patterns are?

TIA

Anyone who has interviewed recently got an answer yet?? Heard courses to be run in next financial year?? Any info on where and what bases?? Heard Cairns and Sydney are the most likely choices

Cheers

I interviewed a couple of months and heard recently that I'm now in the hold pool for a DRW based position although I imagine that it will be a case of go where you are told on the day you start. If the base at Cairns is expanding, as mentioned recently, then perhaps that will be on offer too.

At the interview the panel suggested that there would be a course later this year and early next year. Hope that helps, still appreciate it if anyone could let me know what the rosters and work patterns look like.

Can anyone elaborate on what a DFD day is on the roster for guys on the flexi line agreement? DFD=Duty Free Day.

Does this mean a pilot that has this on his roster can be available for work if they choose to??? But will only accrue hours towards the monthly total. Therefore it differs from a Day Off in no day off payment.

Or is it similar to being on standby?
