Solution - Mandatory change of name to Singapore Airlines Australia. They wont be able to close down quick enough to stop SQ going broke

Not "proposed" anymore - voted for and accepted is my understanding.

Tailchaser

Tailchaser,

DO NOT LEAVE your present job or do a TR till you know you've got a start date or know you're ahead in the 'pool'.
Expansion has ceased in OZ for Tiger and Singas will be taking delivery of the 2 airframes originally bound for OZ.
I believe any employment for FOs in Tiger is due to attrition to Strategic, Jetstar, Emirates etc....definitely not growth. There is huge expansion in Asia and they need planes...and more planes!

OK, so excuse my lack of knowledge but are the majority of posts on here related to the Singapore based airline or the Australian branch? Considering Tiger (Singapore) as a way of moving out east, but lots of the posts here starting to ring alarm bells.

For info currently European based A320 Capt with over 6000 hrs total time.

Any real experience/info gratefully received.

Cool KB?

I believe KB is still there, and holding the pilots together.
Albeit no doubt under a fair bit of stress...

I think VNQ and VNR are coming over the next week. Should provide some relief for the guys in Operations. Certainly has been a while since TT took delivery of a new aircraft direct from Airbus, with the last few Singapore conversions that are constantly out of order.

Last I heard is VNB's lease is not far off ending, and another newbie will replace it. That frame will not be missed. Negative to engine change.

Someone got an Aerocare movement sheet somehow for today and they had cancelled MEL-MCY-MEL, MEL-ADL-MEL and a MEL-SYD-MEL so that may have something to do with this u/s aircraft, their loads look quite healthy though nothing under 120 pax on any of the flights.

VNQ has already become 9V-TAV.

VNB was already out of service so it didn't help having another offline. The MCY flight goes onto SYD after, so thats 6am-5pm period that can be freed up.

Safety fears may ground Tiger Airways following Civil Aviation Safety Authority show cause | News.com.au
Safety fears may ground Tiger Airways following Civil Aviation Safety Authority show cause

BUDGET airline Tiger Airways is at risk of being grounded by the aviation regulator following a spate of safety and maintenance breaches. In a blow for the struggling airline industry, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority has issued Tiger with a "show cause" notice.
It is the most serious action taken by CASA against a major Australian airline since Ansett was hit with a similar warning in 2001 just months before it went bankrupt.
The revelation of the notice issued on March 23 comes as Tiger and other major airlines brace for one of their busiest flying periods.
The Courier-Mail can reveal CASA has written to Tiger's Melbourne-based management raising concerns it was not following proper procedures to ensure utmost safety of passengers.
The regulator wants urgent answers amid concerns pilot training standards have slipped and short-cuts have been taken on maintenance and other operations.
It's all happening this week.

Cant see this going down to well internally, especially when it has made the front page of the Herald Sun this morning.

CASA also not letting any more frames in the country at the moment, two up in Singapore awaiting clearance.

Tony is too focused on the bottom line, never giving Australia what they want, people leave they are not replaced so then departments are left empty and this is the result.

VNB issues have now been rectified which will make CASA happy on one scale. Tiger wont be grounded, dont know where the media pulled that from.

Industry?

Quote: 'In a blow for the struggling airline industry, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority has issued Tiger with a "show cause" notice.'

The above is a line from the News Ltd. article. In which way is anything that kills off 'Tiger' a "blow to the industry"?
