Well, reading through the description of the new process it cetainly looks like they've cut DART. I found that part quite enjoyable, despite the fact I'd convinced myself I had failed it. Perhaps NATS determined that performance on DART doesn't correlate with one's post-training ability?

Or it cost too much money? :}

Is anyone here doing airports training at CTC? Have a question for you if you do.

Coincidentally I would also like to get in touch with someone doing airports at CTC. Or with someone who is currently doing their basic course and starting their APS rating course in June as I'm getting recoursed onto that particular course.

TiffLangham 4th April 2019 12:23

Whris vroooom if you find out you’re off to Gloucester, DM me your numbers and I’ll get you added to our WhatsApp group. In any case, congrats both!

Whris 4th April 2019 12:32

Thanks! I did suggest Gloucester as my preference so will see where I end up!

Just working on getting all the paperwork filled in now!

dFixxx3r 5th April 2019 23:55

I'll be taking the assessments this weekend from start to finish. I imagine they are similiar initially to the stage 0 and 1 tests, however i'll be curious to see what changes are in place considering the FEAST and DART aren't included anymore...

hr97 8th April 2019 22:59

i've done all the online tests for stage 1 and have just been invited to do stage 2 tests which surprised me because i thought i made so many mistakes, some of the stage 1 tests were ridiculously hard

taybz 9th April 2019 22:57

Hi there,

I've done stage 2 but waiting for an outcome, do you know how long it took for an email to come through?
thanks

How did you find Stage 2 on the new version? And have you previously taken the Stage 2 (FEAST , DART) to compare?

I am at Stage 2 now but cannot take for another week due to being away with work. Stage 1 I did yesterday morning and found them easier than the original versions.

taybz 10th April 2019 12:27

I found it ok, but some questions were a little strange especially in the personality questionnaire. The situational judgment part they gave you hypothetical scenarios about your time at the college and training at units and then asked how you would deal with a given situation. They give you 4 options and you rank them 1-4 depending on which would be your go to solution as number 1 and your least as 4. For the personality questionnaire they gave you a set of three statements and you have the pick which is more like you and which is least like you.
I had only got to stage 1 in the previous version and then they updated so can't compare. I also found stage one simpler in this new version than the old one,
where the diagrammatic reasoning threw me off :s
I've also found the the links in the emails they send don't work 100% of the time, i guess there are still some bugs that need fixing in the new version

I've not heard yet either, I did stage 2 on Monday.

Whris 10th April 2019 14:57

Has anyone who got through at the end of the old system been given a date for their medical yet?

I got an email like 2 minutes after saying i passed stage 2

AndreaCass 11th April 2019 09:01

Hi all!

I applied last year and got into assesment 2 (old system). I passed the FEAST but unfortunately I failed on the DART. I am applying again now, but I would like to know if anyone knows if the new assesment 3 tests are going to be FEAST and DART or different ones? There is also a group exercise.

Also, for those of you who have done the new assesment 1, how is it? Is it similar to the old assesment 0 and 1, or are they more like the FEAST?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance! :)

AndreaCass 12th April 2019 04:39

Ok! Thanks!

Calvin M. 12th April 2019 16:58

Hi!
This week I passed stages 1 & 2 of the process and I'm waiting to be given more details about the stage 3 (materials, date...). How much did it take by the old system to have date and all that stuff?

Thanks

When I passed stage 0 and 1 in the old system, they sent me an email immediately inviting me to stage 2, that was in the assessment center. They gave you a link to book a date for the assessment.

Now, as some have pointed out, they are probably waiting to finish with the last candidates of the old system before starting with the new one, so they make take some time before sending out the invitations.

MaddDogg24 13th April 2019 08:00

I passed my stage 2 last month and my stage 3 isn't for another 2 weeks so I would guess I would be one of the last legacy people on the old system!

trolasux 13th April 2019 10:01

I passed stage 1 , the email inviting me for stage 2 arrived in 2 min, but after taking stage 2 nothing has arrived, should I understand that that means im out???

MattPudzilla 13th April 2019 14:09

Just done the stage 1 and 2 assessments online. Passing stage 1 email took about an hour to come through. Passing stage 2 email came through literally within 3 minutes of passing. Just waiting now for the email to book on assesment day

taybz 13th April 2019 16:12

i got an email yesterday for stage 2, now waiting for stage 3... is this usually an email invite as well or do they post it out? Apologies for my questions, first time going through this.

if i understood it right, stage 3 is not remote, so after finishing stage 1 it is automated pass or fail - you go to 2nd stage if successful, but result from s2 maybe needs to be reviewed manually, so don't give up yet..

mjh29 14th April 2019 20:24

I passed stage 2 on the new system yesterday and haven't had anything about booking the assessment day yet. I put it down to being the weekend, but it looks like we're all in a similar boat.

My stage 2 pass email came through immediately and I did it on a Saturday, so maybe there are some scores that are an auto pass and some that need manual review. Seems likely especially because of the type of test Stage 2 is... there is no absolute right or wrong

taybz 15th April 2019 09:39

i emailed NATS recruitment and they said stage 3 dates will be sent out end of this week/ next week. Hope that helps anyone else who was wondering :)

Ahhhh great, thanks for letting us all know! According to the NATS info, they expect people to book a date 3-30 days from the invite, seems like the new recruitment process is lighting fast compared to the old one! If you're quick enough, you could move from first application to stage 3 attendence in under a month...

Yeah you can reapply if you failed the old process less than 12 months ago. I failed in Feb and i've been sucessful on the new system so far.

Go for it!

Hi! Still haven’t done stage 1&2 but was planning to do it this week. However, I am working abroad right now and would not be able to go to stage 3 until June. Do they say that you need to choose date between 3-30 days after you pass stage 2? Is it like stage 1&2 that if you take longer you are out and cannot apply until next year?

From what i've read/understand, the process is as follows:

Stage 1 - Online, must be completed within 14 days (success email within an hour usually)
Stage 2 - Online, must be completed within 14 days (success email within an hour usually)
Stage 3 - Centre, must be completed within 30 days (We are all awaiting invite emails, apparently within the week now)

Hope that clears it up for you! Personally I would wait until you're back in country

AndreaCass 16th April 2019 13:52

Thanks!

I think I'll have to plan very well when I do the assessments, as I will be back from abroad for only a week. I just hope I'm able to book assessment 3 during that week, in case I pass stage 2.

When you are invited to book a date, do you mind sharing if they let you choose during the full 30 days?

I'm afraid I don't know any further, we haven't recieved the invite emails yet. Personally I'd make sure to be in country before committing to anything, just in case! If you passed stage 2 and the week you needed wasn't available, you'd be stuffed.

dFixxx3r 16th April 2019 20:20

planning to do my s1 this weekend,
what is the duration of s1 and what is of s2?
is it important to have mouse or touchpad on laptop is fine ? (is it important to be fast on s1/s2 like it was the case with the feast ?)
is there any importance how big screen is ? 13'' or 15''?

thnx for the answers

I would really recommend a mouse and a comfortable sitting position

Bartek1 17th April 2019 05:10

Each test in stage 1 is timed and you have to do as many examples as you can. The more you do the harder they get (if you answer correctly that is). I did it last sunday and it took my about 2 hours to finish. For one of those tests you really need a mouse to be able to move around the screen quickly.

Hi Andrea

If it's anything like the old system there's 4 a month (3 at CTC and 1 at prestwick) so no you don't get a choice, though I passed my stage 2 in feb and was allowed till may to sit my stage 3. If I were in your situation I would do 1 of 2 things (first option being preferable)

1. Reassess your motivations and make yourself available whenever you have to be.
i spent 7 days away from home and now well into the £1000's in trains/taxis/hotels etc to get through from application to nailing stage 3.
At the end of the day if it's the thing for you, you will find a way.

2. Contact the recruitment email, explain your position and ask for some more info and thier veiw on your best way forward.
At the end of the day the process is ran by humans and they do understand that life isnt always simple.

Im sorry if my advice seems fairly blunt/harsh but the process is harsh and NATS invests heavily in the correct people and offers incredible reward, and as such expects the same excellence and commitment in return.

AndreaCass 18th April 2019 10:01

Unfortunately the first option is not posible for me as my Company expatriated me to Indonesia until next year and I only get to go home every two months.

I have contacted them, and the only information that gave me was that the dates will be released next week. So I think I will risk it and try to apply now.

Thanks anyway! :)

My friend said that if they dont reply within an hour for stage 1 it can take up to 2-5 days to get your pass email so dont worry if you failed. Oh yeah im new to the forum so hello

idloveit 20th April 2019 10:14

Is anyone able to comment on the differences between the old Stage 2 and the new Stage 2?

I am taking my Stage 2 in the next couple of days - any advice would be invaluable.

Thank you!
