scottish-ghost 30th November 2012 16:20

I just got mine through too. (Was also there on Monday) stage 2 here I come! Think I might book the 14th too.

Who's got some tips for stage 2?

PhiltheReaper 30th November 2012 18:45

Yep I passed Stage 1, I have booked 14th for my Stage 2. See you boys there!

There is a lot of Stage 2 advice on the preceding pages Scottish-ghost, although as they are aptitude tests, I found a good sleep and a hearty breakfast in the morning set me up well (for a success) last time around.

Longer term, I didn't think it hurt to practice mental arithmetic in the lead up to the testing day.

Stage 1 - Numeracy Tests

sambatc - do they still do the numeracy/compass tests in Stage 1 assessments?

Info I originally printed mentioned them in the hints and tips but checked site today and application process has been updated, no longer mentions any numeracy test

Crazy Voyager 1st December 2012 17:28

Will see you folks around on the 14th, that's 3 days before our Law exam so you'll probably find all of course 233 in the hub with the nose down the books...

Was a lot of people in on the other day btw, stage 1,2 and 3 on the same day, so looks like recruitment is going full speed at the moment!

hash_wanted 2nd December 2012 15:23

Hi, IoW_Eagle ..I am also booked for Tuesday the 4th at 13:30. Kind of dreading the leaflet part of the test tbh.. how you finding it?

college for ATC

Hi guys, i did my online test, and i wasnt success, any one know the best college so i can go im ready to pay for my tuitions fees, any idea plz.

malakajin 6th December 2012 01:44

As far as I know , yet I may be VERY wrong , paying for training and graduating one of the "atc colleges" doesn't get you anywhere . I mean every ATSA tests , trains , employes , people that pass their selection process. Of course if you want to get employed by some private ATSA controlling small airports , go ahead , but it may not be the thing you dreamed of .

Sorry if I was very discouraging , but it is for your own good !

Eray1986 6th December 2012 18:29

Hey all! how is everybody ^^

Was just wondering, if any of you people who took the stage 1 on the 4th of December heard anything.. I went in at 9.30 in the morning, although had my appointment for 10.30... We were 4 in total for the "ATC test".. in the end, the lady read 3 names out, which i wasnt in.. and I thought "ok.. thats the end of it..". After they left the room, the other lady smiled and said "congrats", I was shocked ofc :P

Was it also a small group for those of you who took it at 13.30?

Best of luck to all of you!

Stage 3

Hi everyone,

I have a question and I hope somebody can clarify the problem I have :-)
I've been sent a link to schedule an interview. I read on the NATS FAQ website that if no date is available, we just have to wait till new dates are posted. I'm wondering if that answer still applies if the link to schedule an interview says: " There are no available time slots remaining for this interview. Please contact the hiring manager listed above to schedule an interview time."

Someone experienced the same in the past? :-)

Good luck to everyone participating in the selection process!

Regards

malakajin 7th December 2012 19:00

Yes it's perfectly normal . The one thing that you won't get notified for is when new slots are available . Check every day ! Some waited months , even a full year . In this session dates will come up real quick ( 95% probability ) so stay calm , take a chill pill ! :D

Eray1986 7th December 2012 19:21

Agreed with malakajin.. Had the same problem for my stage 1.. just wait and check the link regularly, they will put new dates for sure, as the selection process is still open and going.

PhiltheReaper 8th December 2012 10:12

Yes, and be deligent with your checking! At least once a day, every day. These dates seem to be flying off the shelves this session, and you don't want to miss your chance!

I waited over a year between stages 2 and 3, just the way the cookie crumbled for me!

This session has been an aweful lot faster. Don't worry about it!

Phil

sram6 9th December 2012 11:44

Thanks for the replies! I will just wait and check the link on regular intervals :-)

planenut321 9th December 2012 11:45

I have got my stage 2 on Friday and on the NATS website it says I should of been sent a bio-questionnaire before I book stage 2 which I haven't been yet... do they not do that any more?

malakajin 9th December 2012 15:54

Overwhelmed by applicants. They are skipping it this sessions it seems .

Stage 1 Again

Hi guys,

I've just been accepted for my stage 1 down at Fareham on 7th January.

Got to stage 3 a few years ago but never applied again however just decided to last week.

Question is do they still do the Numeracy tests at stage 1? S=d/t etc etc?

Anyone else booked on it on the 7th also?

scottish-ghost 10th December 2012 11:02

Stage 2

Hi
Just looking to clarify, is there an interview section to stage 2? Some sources say yes some say no.

Thanks

Eray1986 10th December 2012 11:10

Hey..

As far as I know, the second stage is the FEAST test along with DART.. The interview stage is the stage 3..

Hope it helps :)

shaymarriott 10th December 2012 11:21

Hi, I haven't seen much reference to it (but haven't actually read through all 46 pages of the thread) so just wondering:

In stage 1 (ATC test/diagramming/spacial awareness) are the ATC questions (from the 30-odd paged document provided) written answers or multiple choice questions?

Good luck to everyone currently revising/awaiting results!

Shay.

scottish-ghost 10th December 2012 11:35

It's all multiple choice

shaymarriott 10th December 2012 21:52

Thanks! Are there likely to be detailed questions on the individual characteristics of the planes?

Assi 11th December 2012 14:18

Hi there..could someone tell me the best place where sleep the day before the stage1? When i say best i mean: near to the Centre (Fareham, Whiteley) , cheap and easy to reach from London... Thank you all! ;-)

Chivz 11th December 2012 14:54

Stage 1

Hey everyone, congrats to all those who have got thru everything so far.

I have my stage one on the 16th jan, some advice would be fab. I have the skytest and have been practising away however i have a few questions i would love answered!

first of all, are you allowed a calculator???!!! (god i hope so)
secondly, on the leaftlet questions can you tell me what type of questions are asked and are there any relating to the planes on the back (if so, what do what want e.g seats, speed etc)?
thirdly, is the basic checking test like the skytests or like the online test we did first?

thank you for anyones help in advance
best wishes to you all, n hope everyone has a nice xmas :)

ajfaccini 11th December 2012 15:17

Theres a premier inn about 5 minutes away from the complex. Does mean a taxi ride but I stayed there the first time i went for my stage 2. Book in advance costs £29 and about 6 pound in a taxi.

Assi 11th December 2012 15:38

Thanks ajfaccini..and could you tell me how reach this hotel from London? I mean: train to Fareham, or Southampton..or what? THanks again..

ajfaccini 11th December 2012 16:00

Train to fareham train station.

Travel from London Waterloo,

Check out National Rail Enquiries - Official source for UK train times and timetables and that will give you the eat journey to use and get tickets etc etc.

Think its a good couple if hours from Waterloo so make sure your iPod has plenty of charge! Lol

ajfaccini 11th December 2012 16:02

Sorry and get a taxi from fareham to the premier inn, again only a couple of pound!

Assi 11th December 2012 18:22

Thank you very very much! ;)

thegolfpimp 12th December 2012 12:40

Anyone waiting on Stage 2 results from the last couple of weeks?

jbba94 12th December 2012 12:45

Hi guys,

I've just taken the initial online test after my application was accepted this morning. This was the multiple choice test where it'd display a long chain of numbers/letters and you'd have to pick out the identical match in the very short time allocated. There were 20 overall.

Has anyone done this, and if so, what mark was needed to pass? I think I screwed up on a few and consequently only got 15-17 right. Will this be enough?

Eray1986 12th December 2012 18:37

its more than enough dont worry ;)

I had stage 1 on 4th December.. still waiting to hear the result, and its really frustrating :P Has anyone from the 3rd or the 4th heard back??? or even later?

Cheers..

The Escapist 12th December 2012 21:46

No news!

Out of curiosity is anyone still waiting for results after sitting Stage One around the 27th of November? Slightly concerned that they seemed to be telling unsuccessful applicants last and the usual turn around time for successful guys/girls was about a week!

I appreciate they said up to 15 working days but the results seemed to be being released a little quicker than that in the previous weeks!

Here's hoping...

The Escapist

Highmore 13th December 2012 17:29

@Escapist

At a guess, I'd say it's because they were trying to fill up the November course, and therefore were rushing through the applications as quickly as possible. The next course starts in February, so there's a little breathing space for the HR department. So I'd not start worrying just yet. I applied back in July, and took stage 1 in the beginning of September. It took 10 or 11 working days to hear my results.

Eray1986 13th December 2012 17:33

Thank you Highmore! You put hope in us :P And when you think of it, you have a point, they are most likely taking it slow since the course starts in February, and the one before, they had to rush to fill up the course ;)

scottish-ghost 13th December 2012 19:17

Good luck to anyone on the stage 2 tomorrow (14th Dec) see you there!

Assi 14th December 2012 09:41

Good luck guys..could you explain what kind of exercises did you find in the stage2? Thanks a lot!

T250 14th December 2012 13:53

Quick question guys, would really appreciate any help.

I was due to attend stage 1 at Whiteley yesterday however it my sister who had been ill for some time passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning and understandably I'm sure you can appreciate I did not feel I could attend today.

I emailed NATS on the HR Recruitment email address yesterday afternoon giving roughly 24hours notice before the test and hoped that was enough and they'd understand the circumstances when they get round to reading my email.

However I am a third time re-applicant and I don't want this to count as no-show as that's it for me if so.

Does anyone have an alternative email address which gets a quicker response or even a telephone number?

Much appreciated everyone, thank you.
