Nice one, well done. So when is your stage 3? Three of us have ours next week! I am getting really nervous now as i want this more than anything. My tower visit was awesome!

Just had the reminder email through.

Through to the final stage of assessment and it says if you are successful you will be invited to attend a medical lol! Even at the final stage you don't get it saying, if you pass....WELL DONE

Hello everybody, could anybody help me? I did my first stage last week and I responded with a high accuracy in motivation part thirty of thirty, cubes thirty three of forty, diagrammatic forty five of fifty and in numeracy forteen of twenty.Does anybody who passed this stage tell me what is his opinion about my resuts? thanks a lot.

mannequin 29th September 2009 09:06

Stage 2 tomorrow, the nerves are starting to set in now.

Guess I'll see a few of you folks in the morning :)

ShaunL 29th September 2009 10:38

Anyone do stage 1 at Prestwick on the 11th? Anyone heard back yet ... surely the results can't be far away now.

I also have stage 2 tomorrow, feeling exactly how you are, though i'm not getting too worked up about it, i'll just try my hardest and thats all i can do. Maybe see you tomorrow, i'll be wearing a red shirt (I'll also be the one with the Scottish accent lol:ok:). Good luck to everyone with stage 2 tomorrow.

i've just passed my medical (thank god- it was another 5 hours or nerves!)

phoned HR hoping to get the well done bit- only to be told that they are still waiting confirmatio of security- so i'm STILL waiting nervously- not letting the other half celebrate until i KNOW that that i'm all done and one the course.

Really hoping to get a an email saying well done your college position is confirmed!

Hi Norroll,

I am yet to know my results for stage 1 but my experience and yours is like a tale of two cities. The only comparable performance I had was for the ATC motivation paper and SDT questions.

If you are 100% sure about the accuracy you are projecting, then I can comfortably say it doesn't get that much better than that! I would suggest you rather start preparing for stage 2 than worry about stage 1 because you WILL pass subject of course, to what you are saying.

mannequin 29th September 2009 14:02

adam28: That'll make 2 scottish accents then ;) Mine is slightly watered down after living down here for the last 6 years though! I'll keep an eye out for you in the morning :)

I hate you.....lol making me jealous. I have Stage 3 next week, i just want to do it now. How long did stage 3 results take for you? Did they call or email? What do you want Aero or Area? If it all goes well we could possibly be starting at the same time.

Congrats on passing the medical! How long ago did you turn in your security form?

Sebby, took them 13 days to get back to me after my stage 3. The waiting was horrible considering it took them less than a day to inform me when I passed stage 2. If you and Pugwash end up in the Area course in February then we'll end up meeting.

Thanks for your opinion,I will take it into account. But there is ones part that concerns me,numeracy,I only did fourteen of twenty and I think it is not enough. And you? how was your interview?

DIAF 29th September 2009 16:36

Noroll, you are worrying too much on how many you did rather on how many you did correctly. When I did my tests I don't remember finishing anything. Hell, on the cubes I finished less than half of them.

Noroll 29th September 2009 19:02

Thanks DIAF,the reason why I m worried about how many it is because my accuracy could be between 92 and 100 per cent more or less, and I think that fourteen of twenty in numeracy is not a good mark, but you are right I shouldnīt be so concerned, all has already done.

Jochi85 29th September 2009 20:12

Pugwash,

You're still waiting for the security vetting to go through?!?! Jesus, you passed S3 long before me....

How was the 2nd medical? I have mine this Friday...not too worried but would like to have it out of the way.

A little worried about the security vetting though if you're still waiting on it. I would really like to have a start date so I have something to work towards. I hate being in this continuous limbo! :ugh:

paperclip810 29th September 2009 20:17

Even when you get your contract, they still say it's subject to security, so expect that for a while yet.

Just a quick word of warning - even if HR say you're on a particular course, that isn't guaranteed. You'll get a contract much nearer the start date, which is a bit more guaranteed, but start dates are still negotiable after that point.

Don't go quitting jobs, moving out, etc for a while yet!

Jochi85 29th September 2009 20:21

Nah not quitting any jobs just yet (as tempting as that would be)....it would just be nice to have a date to work towards.

Can't come quick enough in my opinion!

pugwash4x4 29th September 2009 21:20

Diaf you took 1 day to hear after stage 2 and 13 days after stage 3- well that was exactly the same time frame for me! like you i was a bag of nerves with the waiting- after about 8 days i just tried to stop worrying.

Jochi- goodluck with teh CAA medical- you'll be fine, they're quite nice and they're were a couple of chatty pilots having their medical done when i was there. Mr only problem was that i'm a bit of a lardarse- the doctor told me so, but then said that as it didn't seem to be affecting my lifestyle then he'd pass me! It didn't help that i was only about the 3rd person to have a class 3 european medical so they weren't too sure of the requirements! The tests are basically the same as NATS, but slightly more in depth aaprt from the lack of a drugs test (which surprised me)- the results are much more accurate than for NATS and they also do cholesterol too. The medical centre is easy to find- they make it sound complicated- but just look out for a big grey building next to a junction and you'll be fine. Expect the medical to take 3 hours at least. Getting the ticket is a huge bonus.

Security- i'm just going to presume that i'm going to pass security- there is no reason for me to fail, and i've fully explained anything that could be a slight problem.

Paperclip810- don't deflate my sails too badly lol! i'm on a bit of high that i seem to be basically done and should be starting college.

Hoping to start area in Feb along with some of you other guys- say hello in the lounge!

stage 3 results

Hi I had my stage 3 last mon (21st) and have still not heard anything! I personally don't think it went well, but its the anticipation of not knowing either way! Its only been 9 days tomorrow, not that I'm counting, but I heard so quickly from s1 and s2, I'm not used to waiting this long! X

Whooshthecat 29th September 2009 22:27

Anyone take their stage 3 on the 18th September?

If so, how did you get on?

Anyone about to take their's - I'm more than happy to answer any specific questions you may have.

Hi,

How long did you have to wait for s1 and s2 and where did you take them?

Why do you say s3 did not go well for you?

leanne1987 30th September 2009 09:06

I heard within a day or two for both s1 and s2. I had my S1 in Manchester and S2 at the CTC. S3 was just a mess for me, it could have gone so much better, I was just so nervous and all my words were getting mixed up. I was stuttering and everything! lol

Wild78 30th September 2009 13:13

Has anyone who did S2 at Swanick on September 11th heard back yet?

Fretwanger 30th September 2009 13:48

Hey Wild78, I done it at CTC if thats what you mean. I heard on friday that I passed :D I was the chap with the dodgy chair LOL

Good Luck

S2 30th Sep

Was cool meeting all the guys today at CTC for stage 2 tests. Best of luck to you all. Reckon I totally screwed up at least one of the tests so not overly positive about the whole thing. What did everyone think of the flight progress strips test?

VFFX 30th September 2009 17:42

I did S1 at Prestwick on the 11th sept. Just heard today didn't make it through. Maths must of let me down I guess :(

Wild78 30th September 2009 18:01

Hey Fretwanger, yeah sorry, CTC is what I meant. Congratulations on getting through! :) All the best for S3. I was sat at the back of the room on the left...I remember the dodgy chair! LOL

Hopefully I should hear soon then.....I don't suppose you got an email asking for you to logon to the SHL site to complete some more assessments did you?

Noroll 30th September 2009 19:17

VFFX

Sorry for that,I also think I didnīt do good mark in maths, could you tell me how many question do you think you responded? and how many do you think you did well?,thanks.

leanne1987 30th September 2009 19:19

Hey guys, bit confused, still have heard nothing back from my stage 3 last monday, as previously said, however on checking my email I had an email from nats wanting to verify and gather some more information for my security vetting, 'in order to process my application'What does this mean? Any help would be appreciated! X x

VFFX 30th September 2009 19:41

I guess I just answered over half. They were really tough and the multiple choices (should you have to guess) had two similar answers.

As to how many I got right, who knows....

Going to make damned sure I get some feedback this time, as I towed the line last year and didn't ask HR for any, I need some answers to explain this failure and justify all the revision/time I put in.

ianb87 30th September 2009 21:26

Sat my s1 at Fareham today, personally i think i did ok, but had a bit of a shocker in the maths paper too, answered 15, but probably only 10 of them were accurate!!!!

Today was not my first time either and i have never asked HR on my failings, never knew you could until this forum. This time i will defo be pushing for answers if i get a negative email because i too have worked so hard and due to the location of the stage 1's this year ontop of my hard work its also set me back pushing Ģ300 for 2hrs worth of tests (hotel, travel etc)... i think slight feedback is warranted haha

Fumbles88 30th September 2009 21:49

Hey all,

I'm back off down to Southampton tomorrow ready for Friday's S2 :uhoh:

Anyone else gonna be there on Friday? I know Pat is (unless you have changed days) anyone got any last minute advice?

adam28 30th September 2009 23:58

Hey,

I agree with you on the flight strips, it wasn't too hard to do what it asked, it was just doing it in the amount of time they gave you that was difficult, while you are constantly receiving new info through your headphones!! I thought this was the most difficult test. Let us know how you get on. Anyone else who sat stage 2 on 30th September should also post their results when they get them. Good luck

mannequin 1st October 2009 08:18

Yeah, i'm not feeling too confident about the whole thing. I didn't really mind the flight strips but i've got a horrible feeling I missed a ton of opposite conflicts :(

I guess we'll see when the results come through.. I hate the waiting already heh!

Pat42 1st October 2009 09:28

Hey Fumbles,

Yeah I'm doing mine tomorrow, I'll have to try and work out who you are (it was Mark wasn't it?) Anyone else going to be there?

mannequin 1st October 2009 10:26

Anybody else that did Stage 2 yesterday get an email from SHL for NATS requesting you do some more assessments?

Or has anybody else that has done Stage 2 received something like this? I don't remember reading about it during this thread.

pugwash4x4 1st October 2009 10:32

don't worry- its a checking thing. They re-test a random sample to see if your results differ.

It does NOT affect the outcome of your stage 2. its purely procedural. one of the guys at my stage 3 had to do it, and we all agreed it was very unfair to pull that on hiim at stage 3- probably why they are now doing it at stage 2!

SKOS 1st October 2009 13:02

VFFX,

Sorry to hear about stage1 - from the feedback you gave after your stage1, I felt you would go through. I feel getting detailed feedback from HR is absolutely paramount and would be grateful if you can share with us to ascertain to an extent, the kind of performance required to get past stage1.

One thing you said that I am not quite clear on is, you don't seem to know how many of the 11 maths question you answered was right. I mean with the answers, it is either you know how to work it out and get it right or not. Surely, you must have an idea as to how many of the 11 you got right.

You did your S1 at Manchester? I', from Manchester but thought we can only do them in Prestwick, Fareham or Heathrow? When was it?

Also, regarding the security checks, what sort of stuff are they looking for?

I managed to get a driving ban and a caution when I was young and stupid, coud that be a problem?

Thanks

lost_in_thought 1st October 2009 15:09

Just heard back from my S3 on the 29th, sadly it was a no... I've emailed them back to ask why..
