Flybe summer 2015

Does anyone know when the remaining Flybe Summer 2015 timetable will be released? Someone on their Facebook page said the 15th November but I can't see changes in the timetable yet.

hmmm, Deano

it's far cheaper to night stop crew than to operate a crew base - fact
FR have about 70 bases and don't nightstop crew anywhere unless they have to. Not sure that it is cheaper to nightstop crew.

It actually is cheaper to nightstop crew. I was told the figures a while ago from someone high up and I can assure you that based on Flybe's business model, it is cheaper to nightstop crew rather than have an operational base. Please bear in mind this is based on having less than the ideal 3 or 4 aircraft in base. Why do you think they closed GCI/JER/IOM/ABZ/INV? Because it wasn't cost effective to have 2 aircraft or less, it costs a fortune. I'm not going to spout the figures on here for obvious reasons.
How many bases do Ryanair operate from where they have only 2 or less aircraft in base? Probably not many.

Deano777 17th November 2014 11:22

This is also why NQY has been operated by nightstopping crews for the last 5 years, I'm pretty sure the new management would have made it a crew base by now should that be more cost effective, the fact is it just isn't. :ok:

Guess its down to smaller bases having higher crew costs when crew tend to fly less than at the larger bases, whereas FR crews are on zero hours contracts and pay for their own hotac.

Flybe said that the remainder of the timetable for S 2015 would be hopefully available in Mid November!
So possibly this week?

The recent discussion about Flybe competing with London airports at SOU is well illustrated in todays easyJet results presentation, see the London area catchment chart and details on page 31, FF

Ex DUB today/tomorrow

Dub Sen x 3 trips, plus EXT and INV all cancelled , are BE short aircraft?

re: Dublin flights

Hangar6,

I believe Flybe cancelled these flights some weeks ago, so I guess Dublin Airport has the old schedules loaded maybe and they show as cancelled rather than being deleted?

Only time Flybe will be operating DUB-SEN on a Wednesday for example, is between 23-Dec-14 - 31-Dec-14 and 29-Mar-15 - 03-Sep-15

Thanks for update, appears DAA timetable out of date!

What is the latest on the retirement of the E195s? I believe they still have 4 actively flying? Is it any coincidence that they still have 4 175s on order?

Grizzle 21st November 2014 15:10

Nope!

They still have 3 flying out of 14
5 sold to Vim
6 parked up awaiting sale along with the 3 currently flying.
The 4 remaining on order are the remnants of the RA deal for the Q4s

Deano777 21st November 2014 18:28

There's actually 4 E195s in service at the moment. Grizzle is correct, the 4 remaining E175s on order is part of the deal with Republic and nothing to do with the 195s

I see Flybe are on the biggest losers list on the stock market this week.

Down to £1.00.

Nakata77 22nd November 2014 00:35

Sun schedule for 2015 will be released in 5-7 days. Some sources say 25th Nov now and others 28th Nov.

Late to be messing around with S15 but guess they are trying to sort out their fleet first. If they have excess 195's & crews, they may as well use them if the routes are at least 'contributing' which I'm sure they are.

Deano777 22nd November 2014 08:28

I can assure you we haven't got excess 195 crews :ooh:

Lord Spandex Masher 22nd November 2014 09:08

Go on then....

Flightrider 22nd November 2014 13:40

Going back to a previous topic, although I have no doubt that Saad Hammad wouldn't care less about my views (and that's mutual) then I still see an airline here which is losing the plot in a big way. If you read the latest set of results, there is an ongoing £26m impairment due to the grounding costs of the 195s and a £10m revenue hit this year from reduced charter activity through not having them. £10m revenue is not £10m profit, but unless the previous team were so inept that they were running charters at a direct operating loss, I still can only reason that the grounding of the 195s was a knee jerk reaction which has cost dearly.

When you then add to the equation that Flybe have their own grounded aircraft for which they are paying and yet they are chartering in other aircraft like the Stobart ATR72 on LPL-IOM and the Logan S2000 on ABZ-LCY plus handing off routes like GLA-MAN due to apparent lack of equipment, you really do wonder what is going on.

Everything I am hearing on LCY is that with the exception of BHD, volumes are dire.

I stick by my view that this has got trouble written all over it, although for the sake of the team of hard working people who are Flybe's crews and ground staff, I hope to be proven wrong.

stab3.5up 22nd November 2014 14:14

I agree totally. LCY-BHD-LCY are very good im told but have also been told that the yield on the fares is very low as they try to pick up trade from EZY/BA/EI.
