If its up on the website, just do a mock booking, when you see select your seats it will show the seating plan, which will tell you the aircraft, so just done it and it confirms it will be the Saab 2000, handy little trick if your wondering the aircraft type

GLA - MAN
Wonder if the newly electrified and revised routing of the MAN - GLA Transpennine Express is nibbling away at the loads?

Wonder if the newly electrified and revised routing of the MAN - GLA Transpennine Express is nibbling away at the loads? By missing a few stops, the new trains are faster, but they're from the same 'Desiro' family of suburban trains as the diesels they replaced. Just my two cents, but they're not the most refined or comfortable things to spend three and a quarter hours on the west coast mainline in. |
GLA
I agree re the hub at MAN although the increasing variety of offerings at both GLA and EDI may have an effect on traffic originating North of the border.
I agree re Desiro variants, although I must say that I increasingly have foregone the Flybe MAN - EDI in favour of the train. If they could get another 30 minutes off rail journey time then I think they would clean up a lot more business traffic. |
Tartin Ton, your comments are so funny "Probably the most likely base that with the help of a short term subsidy will lead to a long term profit. Not a dissimilar plan to most airlines...."!
According to my infomation and you only have to look at Cambridge as a recent example, to see why your commets are hilarious! |
Someone said on the Forum Loganair are to start flights from.DSA-BHD os this true?
So far Flybe only do Jersey in Summer. We don't need another BHD we need Knock and BFS and DUB |
DSA can not support those flights. It's not a convenient airport for most. People will travel to it for their occasional flights on holiday or home to Eastern Europe, it cannot support regular short haul commuter flights to pretty much anywhere. The LNK flights are touch and go, and nobody has operated any other routes successfully.
|
Perhaps, but don't underestimate the value of the hub at MAN, the route doesn't just depend on O&D between the two cities. By missing a few stops, the new trains are faster, but they're from the same 'Desiro' family of suburban trains as the diesels they replaced. Just my two cents, but they're not the most refined or comfortable things to spend three and a quarter hours on the west coast mainline in. |
Electrification is welcome and long overdue, now increased speeds and intercity rolling stock is required on what is in fact an intercity route. |
But it doesn't go anywhere near London!?! Bit London-centric isn't it, SWBKCB, it's this kind of thinking that's preventing other UK centres from reaching their potential. Manchester and Glasgow are both important UK cities, are they not? They need to be properly linked to each other as well as to London - by rail as well as by air. |

Tongue firmly in cheek! :ok:

Flybe stopping their own Rewards4All frequent flyer programme in favour of joining Avios. 6 months to redeem your points with last eligible flights 24th October 2015.
|
This will no doubt be a very positive move in the eyes of many frequent travellers.
|
Strangely I am in favour of this, as my Avios now are worth something even outside London, but doing the maths, I was strangely better off with Rewards4All given the average (low) price I pay per segment and the possibility of doing a 30 points All-In booking to flexibly change to any flight that actually suits me (even if tomorrow).
It will be interesting to see just how high the tax will be on the Avios flight, my understanding is that FlyBE will not be part of the Rewards Saver programme... |
Does this mean I can earn points on both Flybe and British Airways on the same account ?!...
|
I think SWBKCB's comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek. Tongue firmly in cheek! |
Time for a trip back to Orkney or the Hebrides... R4A points are basically worthless on 'mainline' FlyBe routes because of the taxes and charges. However with those forming a smaller proportion of intra-Scotland flights they can be very useful for cheap trips on Loganair routes to the islands.
|
Anybody know if Flybe will realese their summer timetable at some point next week? Can't believe they take so long when so many others have done it weeks ago
|
I've heard rumours that the first batch of routes gets released 22Oct for S15
