take-off 29th October 2007 21:25

Is it just blk that sending the 737s to tfs or any of the other bases sending them? Guess all the 75s are tied up on other routes, shame would like to see the 75 back in blk, i guess send a 73 means yet another reduction in capacity, bit odd if last years tfs was doing well, or is it that blk was pulling pax that would of flew from man, plus this year ryanair are doing tfs from lpl 3 times a week, rather than globespan.

Ironside0 29th October 2007 21:48

Seems odd downsizing the TFS from 757,used it a couple of times last winter and was very full except the extra legroom seats as per normal,i booked a few months ago to go agin in Feb and when i was offered to pre book my seats was told it would be a 737 then,i honestley thought it was a mistake! I know TFS is in the range of the 737 but 4 and a half hours seems a long flight in one of the old girls....I know the 757's are just as old but it somehow seems a route more suited to them especially as they were filiing them?

Does anybody know why the BLK-BFS (26/10/08) is all booked up on both flights?

I'm guessing the flight is cancelled for this day?

26/10/08 is the first Sunday of the winter season so almost certainly hasn't been released yet.

Would seem by readin other threads, where jet2 have bases that they are doing a BA, by retracting routes but expanding mainly from leeds .I don't agree with other threads saying the end is near for jet2, maybe at man it might be a possiblity with easy looming in the distance, man being slimmed down somewhat to the more successful routes, could be a good thing for blk, if jet2, with effort on both sides, especially on airports front (opening hours changed to except later/delayed flights a start),I would have thought blk could become a little goldmine for jet2, but would certainly need the airport to market itself better than it does already, half the people in blk dont know we can fly from here:ugh::ugh::ugh:, point being that I have not even seen a piece in news about the ibiza flights in local paper, took a week for it to appear on airports website , anyway mini rant over, lets hope for some more good news for the airport in next weeks/months and see our little airport grow:ok::ok::ok:

bplgaz 3rd November 2007 06:52

There were two pieces on Ibiza in the Gazette, and don't worry, we're watching the forum for any more news of new routes!!!

what would easy want with looking at blk? Not knocking it, great if its true, but surely man would be higherr up on list now with the GB takeover, maybe a man/blk dual base in future, dnt know how happy that would make LS:hmm:

Still lets hope their interested, poss blk-lgw to start with:ok:, hows everyone fancy an orange terminal?????:}:}

MUFC_fan 8th November 2007 20:06

North West take over! next it will be LBA!

The new chief executive officer at Blackpool Airport, David Kershaw, is just a few days into his job already has a long list of things to do. And getting a link back with London is at the very top of his 'to do' list.
Mr. Kershaw joins the airport's management from Servisair, where he held the position of executive vice-president for the UK. It has been over four months since no-frills airline Ryanair chose to pull its daily London Stansted connection. However, with new flights to Ibiza already promised for next summer, he has said that his priority is to regain a link to the capital.
He said: 'The loss of the Stansted route was a major blow. There are conversations going on with a number of airlines who are interested in taking on the route. It's a case of finding who has got the right support in place to take on such a route band to please both the business and recreational traveller.'
The airport recently launched its masterplan project with the aim of bringing more than two million passengers through its departure lounge over the next 12 months. Part of the plan has already reached fruition with the existing terminal undergoing a £1m revamp - including a new lounge, 14 departures desks and shops and cafes.

Looks good! Could he possibly?!

Alicante charter not showing in Thomson Winter 2008/09 brochure

MUFC_fan 11th November 2007 21:32

It is not in the OAG website (but never is!) and seems that flights this week (13th) are full due to the aircraft only being a 735. Can book flights from 20th though.

Also, if you go on the thomsons website, you can book the hols from there!;)

Hope this helps!

P.S. Only 3 seats available for next week too! Obviously very popular! Flights are fuller than LS anyway!

take-off 12th November 2007 07:50

would be great if this new boss could persuade teh new thomson/first choice to do few more charters from blk/ i know they tried majorca for summer few years ago, but with jet2/ ryanair doing well on summer routes a couple of weekly flights here and there could work:):):)

take-off 13th November 2007 08:22

been on thomson site and tried looking up blk-alc for nov 08 and it show nothing , just gives you hols leaving lpl instead, mind website doesnt let you book any flight for next summer from lpl on thom flight, anyway hope this doesnt mean an end for good for charter, or does anyone think it will get added on as its still fairly early on for next winter, or would it be that they cant send full 738s out from blk, if thats case then airports gonna have to look at doing something to runway to accomadate these planes, as to not loose more business.

aidoair 13th November 2007 15:38

Thomsonfly aren't basing an aircraft at Liverpool next summer they will just be having a couple of W runs most likely from Man.

garethjk22 13th November 2007 18:35

I hope you can send a full B738 out of BLK, otherwise someone best call Ryanair and quick!
