Only H24 for the Search and Rescue helicopters. Otherwise PPR (Prior Permission Required) 2115-0630

Meanwhile Wizz is still selling tickets for flights to/from DSA for November and beyond. Evidently they failed to make a plan B for the airport being closed because of their amateurish business decisions.

Well that didn’t take long for them to announce their intentions, quite disgusting actually when this affects hundreds of airport staff!

Don't you just love the "job creating" quote, when they have just directly been responsible for 800 people losing their jobs, and indirectly probably another 1500.
The hypocrisy is unbelievable.

Get off the outrage bus - those quotes are from the original statement made on Monday and have been clearly stated as Peels intention since they announced the review. No surprise

Will IKEA take over the main terminal?

dsamole 29th Sep 2022 15:47

Last Wizz flights 30th October - start LBA 31st.

Well done PEEL.

I struggle to see what you can usefully use the terminal for. Given that it attracts rate liability and encourages protestors to campaign for compulsory purchase, I could easily see it being demolished quite quickly.

Rutan16 29th Sep 2022 18:38

And relatively cheaply being a portal steel and glass construction in the main

Buster the Bear 29th Sep 2022 19:00

Sell the terminal to RiverOak for Manston.

highwideandugly 29th Sep 2022 19:59

Timmy…can I ask what your next project is please?

Government could do with a little bit of sage at this time?

Hope it’s not my airport! 😀

dsamole 30th Sep 2022 11:03

Many been given notice this morning including all fire service.

Last operational shift for them on 22nd November.

Leaving 2excel and NPAS without fire cover.

PEEL are nothing short of ruthless.

Gsm1 30th Sep 2022 11:31

& a merry Christmas from Peel

SKOJB 30th Sep 2022 11:42

Any word on future location for 2Excel?

Rob732 30th Sep 2022 11:43

Ruthless!! All planned down to the last detail it seems!

Flew out of DSA to Krakow this morning. Terminal
busy and flight full.

Nothing but praise for the staff who are under incredibly difficult circumstances while keeping the show going and remaining as professional as ever.

A superb asset to a superb airport.

Don't seem to be in a rush with job vacancies open based at Donny!

And the company which serviced Citations? Have they already finished?

Went years ago.

August stats are out and the airport handled 160,000 pax in a month. I think that’s some sort of record? 921,000 year to date which is off their high of 1.4m but still. My mind boggles that the airport isn’t viable at these sorts of numbers?

How many of those might have been trips postponed from the pandemic?
How much revenue do those passengers generate for the airport? Does a Wizzair passenger buy car parking and spend heavily in the departure lounge?
