Anyone know yet where the new ex TCX group A321's are likely to be based?

irishlad06 24th Jan 2020 14:40

3 x BHX
4 x MAN

garry8g 26th Jan 2020 08:22

New to Jet2, 2nd B737-800 G-DRTR(Ex Air China), entered revenue service yesterday afternoon on LS755 from Manchester to Tenerife.

7 x A321s acquired from Thomas Cook/Condor fleet
9 x A321s leased from various airlines for summer 2020
2 x A330s leased from Air Tanker for summer 2020
9 x B733s but two are for disposal early summer 2020
74 x B738s
6 x B738s may still be due to join the fleet for Summer 2020
1 x B738 lease from Air Europa for summer 2020
1 x B757 leased from Titan for summer 2020
11 x B757 but two are for disposal early summer 2020

So maybe something in the region of 116 aircraft......

VickersVicount 30th Jan 2020 18:26

what a mishmash... must be a logistical nightmare

Other airlines seem to manage with mixed fleets.

Jet2 also have a lot of their own standby aircraft planned into the programme to cover the inevitable.

LBAflyer22 30th Jan 2020 20:36

It is not the most accurate list:

As already pointed out; it's 3x a330 and 8x A321 from Various airlines.

garry8g 30th Jan 2020 20:57

It is 3 X A330-200, all from Air Tanker.

And 9 X A321 leased from other airlines - 4 A321 from Titan(Stansted), 2 A321 from Hi Fly(Man) and 3 A321 from Smartlynx(Birmingham). (That's so far!)

There is also currently 75 Jet2 B738 (not 74) - 5 have still to enter service.

The leased B757 from Titan is from May until end of July(Birmingham), until the 3rd A321 from Smartlynx arrives.

I'm under the understanding it is just 1 Hi Fly.

I would of thought the Titan 757 is for Jet2 A321over the Smart Lynx. Smart Lynx no longer have as much work, due to obvious reasons, therefore are good to go from when Jet2 require them. Therefore 3 Smart Lynx from April/May time.

irishlad06 31st Jan 2020 10:49

It’s is now only 1 x A321 from Hifly for MAN.
discussions are taking place regarding a 2nd aircraft. Type not yet known but likely A330.

smartlynx will be 3 x A321’s based in BHX as well as the B757 from Titan which will stay until the end of July.

The HIFly A321 will be:

9H-LIS - MAN based starts 1st April

Airtanker A330’s will be:

GVYGL - currently based in MAN year round
GVYGM - due to re-start 3rd April and stay until at least end of Dec to help cover the EWR flying.
GVYGK - due to start 20th May

Air Europa
EC-IDT (LBA based) starts 2nd April

Titan
4 x A321’s to be STN based.
GPOWN - starts 2nd April
GPOWU - starts 2nd April
GPOWV - starts 2nd April
GPOWW - starts the 26th March (Titan still to acquire this aircraft)

Smartlynx
3 x A321’s - BHX Based
YL-LCQ - starts 30th March
YL-LCV - starts 30th March
YL-LDA - starts 2nd April

Titan B757 - BHX based
GPOWH - starts 17th May until 31st July.

This is according to current slots filled.

Three were due in January (Ex.TCDD,DE DG) however that hasn't happened.
TCDH is due in May and DP/CD/CE don't have exact dates from what I can find other than they are due before S20.

Last I heard from the guys involved was March for first flights with April for entry into Jet2 service.

Obviously there’s a requirement to get the crews current again prior to this, which can be a little complicated.

Crewing Gimp 1st Feb 2020 09:10

112 aircraft total for Summer (inc ACMIs).

Flying Hi 1st Feb 2020 09:19

320/321 Sims?

I know its in anorak question but if Jet2 only have Sims for their 737 fleet, whose Sims will they use for their growing Airbus fleet?
i wondered ( or is that 'wandered?') if they bought any TCX Sims etc.

There will be an A320 sim installed at the current sim centre in the near future, don’t know where it’s coming from though.

LiamNCL 1st Feb 2020 10:26

They are using the old TCX sim.
