According to this article on Ch-Aviation the 2 ex BE ATR72-600’s are being subleased to LM through until just before the end of there lease term with BE. Does anyone know how long the aircraft are leased for?

How will this evening's news about FlyBE impact Loganair's sub-lease from them of the "new" ATRs?

I’ll guess they take the two from eastern if there is an issue? Don’t imagine Eastern having much need for them much longer

Don’t Eastern’s operate on oil routes/charters? Why would this end.

why would loganair take the 2 atr's that are owned by Eastern Airways ????, the aircraft are nothing to do with flybe

mmeman 4th Mar 2020 21:48

Eastern have lost the IAC contract flying to Scatsta to Loganair who are flying to Sumburgh, so maybe Eastern have no no use for their ATR's?

According to STV News just now, Eastern/Bristows are losing the contract come summer.

Richard Taylor 4th Mar 2020 21:53

Rumour is the main contract for which Eastern use the ATR72s (IAC contract ABZ - SCS (Scatsta)) is changing hands. Bristow supposed to be losing the offshore crew change contract at SCS in favour of rivals Babcock, but out of LSI (Sumburgh) - SCS closing down this summer. Babcock use Loganair for their fixed wing transfers out of ABZ. So either Eastern find alternative work for their ATR72s or they will have to lease or dispose of them.

Scatsa Airport to close with loss of 50 jobs

T3 ATRs

T3 only operate the two ATR 72s, they were owned by Bristows but sold to NAC and leased back, so the aircraft maybe returned to NAC unless T3 maintain the leases, however, they do not really have such a use now for these aircraft.

LM are already a customer of NAC, with most of the ATR fleet leased from them. If Eastern do get rid if their ATRs, I can see Loganair taking over the leases.

Press reporting that Loganair are taking on 16 Flybe routes.
