Maybe not, IOM-LPL is a route between 2 airports were there’s no connections possible but has an agreement much like a PSO with the IOM government. MAN is becoming a HUB and BHX has connections with sky team and Flybe (VS Connect)

VH4 you really are a little *****. You've never anything worthwhile to contribute in any of the threads you post in. Maybe spare a thought for the 1000s of people employed by Flybe who read these pages, and the 1000s of people working for other companies who'd lose their jobs if Flybe went to the wall, companies that rely on Flybe's trade. Not to mention entire airports who would find it difficult to stay open, and the people who use Flybe on a day to day basis who'd not have the links they currently do.

Just think before you post. That goes for all of you.

RogueOne, People will often have a different opinion as yourself. The best cause of response would be to engauge in an exchange of intellectual opinions. Resorting to name calling does nothing for your own cause.

As we saw with TCX and MON before that, this idea that some posters have that if everybody just doesn't mention the subject as to not hurt the feelings of those affected, then you are surly deluded as it makes squat all difference to the eventual outcome and I say that as someone who's likely to be effected by any failing.

Mention the subject all you want, that's not what bothers me, but some on many threads across this forum take great pleasure in trolling and winding people up, including many people, such as yourself come here to read and see if there's any information or 'rumour' about their company or their job.

Well they shouldn't. Official information will be promulgated before anything useful gets posted here.

Vhf.Perhaps you can give us your expert opinion as to in what way the airline is badly run

bean 25th Feb 2020 18:30

Chesty you are right
This useless speculaton is getting us nowhere

Pretty obvious isn’t it? Or are you too ignorant to see past your prejudices? To spell it out, Monarch and TC are charter operators merely taking people on holidays, whilst BE are the biggest provider of this country’s national air infrastructure. The government are not concerned with saving A failing business, they want to keep the country moving and business being done. Any financial assistance they provide to BE would be a drop in the ocean compared to what they are spending on H2.

VHF4 - do you not understand the difference between UK domestic air travel on the thinner routes and the more heavily utilised ones that the LCCs operate on?
Please take a deep breath and, as others have suggested, think seriously before you once again continue with your negative posts.
Thank you in anticipation.

Mr @ Spotty M 25th Feb 2020 20:34

Rivet Joint, Monarch were not a charter operator when they failed, charter flights ended a year or so before they went bust.

Thats splitting hairs, their network was almost entirely geared towards taking Brits to the sun and you know it. Name me a Monarch route as socially/economically useful as Exeter-Manchester or IOM-Liverpool...

To answer Bean's point on how VHF4 knows its a badly run airline. It has lost hundreds of millions of pounds in a short space of time. It go so bad with working capital, they sold their head office to raise circa. £5m. It has now twice been minutes away from collapse. it turns over about £800m a year and cannot make £1 profit. That in my opinion is a badly run airline. It is terrible that if it goes under the staff are the ones who suffer. The staff (crew etc) who undoubtably are the best part of the business. The people who run the airline will probably just pop up elsewhere to ruin another one.

Actually it's 3 times.

Apart from a change of Chancellor, I sense that priorities are changing for the Govt, driven by events ourside their control. If CV becomes as serious as some think, it may put economic activity on hold leading to reduced taxes and a need for greater Govt spending - and thus some nice-to-have projects (eg saving Flybe) might not receive Govt funding

davidjohnson6 26th Feb 2020 07:59

If CV turns nasty on a global basis, Delta, Virgin and Stobart will be focussing on saving their own core business - Flybe will not be a priority

Where have they made it clear? Do you have a source for this other than your next door neighbour’s best friend’s dog?

To be fair if Delta are happy to invest more in Flybe/Virgin Connect, what on earth is going on?
