Thanks LAX_LHR for that update.

Thomas Cook Summer 2016 changed again. MAN now used for the W pattern LTN flights. Plus a lot of reductions short haul than was originally planned. Plus Holguin/Cayo Coco both gone for Summer 2016.

Condor will only operate 1 flight a week and thats the Burgas Friday flight as this year. The other ones like Zante etc now all have Thomas Cook flight numbers.

LAX_LHR 17th Oct 2016 19:04

Holguin still available next summer. It just takes a short break in May/June for some reason.

Also, not sure it was covered already, but BMIregional will run a Saturday's only Cagliari charter from 7th July. Nice to see them back.

PIA increasing the JFK transit to 3 weekly, PK723 arrives MAN 1555 and departs 1725 on Fridays.

Tue/Sat flights continue as normal.

Logohu 18th Oct 2016 05:31

On the subject of PIA there is an interview in Flightglobal in which the PIA CEO states the transit stop for PIA's JFK flights will be changed from MAN to Leipzig from January.

LAX_LHR,

Just checked the Thomas Cook schedules and it appears Holguin has gone for Summer 2017 as the Monday flight shown is a codeshare flight via Munich

Cayo Coco gone and that was 2 weekly originally.

So thats 4 weekly long haul flights gone

LAX_LHR 18th Oct 2016 09:39

The routes are making way for something else. Don't worry, we are not going to start the season 4 flights down, the A330 fleet will be fully utilised barring one day for MX.

kieb92 18th Oct 2016 09:59

Ah thanks for that LAX_LHR. Be interesting to see what that may be

Betablockeruk 18th Oct 2016 10:40

Thanks for that LAX_LHR. Always great to see your posts.

How many times has PIA said they're going elsewhere with their JFK flights? DUB, SNN, BCN, LEJ. What's the real issue?

I am booked on the Thomas Cook flight to Zante on Sunday 28th May, and have recently had an e mail from them advising that the flight would be operated by Thomas Cook Airlines instead of Condor.
The seat plan still seems to show a B757-300, so presumably one from the Thomas Cook fleet ?

LAX_LHR 18th Oct 2016 12:50

Norwegian to launch daily B737 to New York from May 2017.

Edinburgh will also be launched. Fares from £200.

Article is online but behind times online paywall.

Also regarding TCX, 4 Condor B757 to be transferred to TCX fleet with G-reg.

Still a Condor plane - Four are being transferred across in 2017 in lieu of the 767s.

The reality is the back office of the TCX VKG and CFG are pretty much unified now allowing the cross fleeting.

Summer 2017 will see two VKG A330s in the UK , the TCX 767s scheduled to stay in Germany and TCX operating those 4 757-330 on their code (|They may remain of the German register however)

Winter 2016/2017 will see the usual TCX 330 migration up north to operate Thai shuttles.

Seems to have created quite a stir.

UK pledges action over US block on Norwegian Air

CCGE29 18th Oct 2016 16:31

Because the 'local airlines will suffer'. And tbh they deserve to with the shocking service reliability that they are currently providing on US-UK services.

The reliability for American and the old UA 757's are obviously going to put people off travelling with them. TCX has also had a large effect and with them now interlining with JetBlue that will only add to American & United's problems.

Flew GLA-PHL just prior to the AA takeover of US on something nigh on a rust bucket.

They don't like it up 'em the yank establishment!

Looks like MAN is down to single runway ops due to an British Airways Airbus G-EUPM stuck on runway 23R with a nose gear problem.

techair 19th Oct 2016 13:06

Could be BAs attempt to force Mays hand for R3 @ LHR..."look the UK now has NO spare runway capacity cos we've closed it"!!

Very good - like it! :D

Still on single runway ops at 1500L

BHX5DME 19th Oct 2016 14:06

I thought BA were against R3 at LHR ?

Dobbo_Dobbo 19th Oct 2016 14:06

BA (and their parent IAG) are anti LHR R3 on grounds of cost.
