Business Traveller now has confirmation that SQ will switch to an A350 on MAN route, and suggests that 1st Jan is start date as First Class (available on the 777) is no longer bookable after that date.

azz767 16th Nov 2016 13:11

B-HUJ about to fly over Stockton as it approaches MAN. Last pax CX 744 to land at MAN if I'm not wrong

LAX_LHR 16th Nov 2016 13:12

Last CX B744 pas ever

roverman 16th Nov 2016 16:58

Sq A350

A350 feels 'right sized' for the route and with a better configuration. B77W rather premium-heavy. Should do well for the bottom line and bring us close to a daily frequency.

LAX_LHR 16th Nov 2016 17:02

MAN on the ball updating its 'new routes' section.

Oman Air is listed, with a 'book now' tab directing you to Oman Air website. Only issue is, it's still not bookable on Oman air website! It's starting to be bookable on 3rd party sites however.

LAX_LHR 17th Nov 2016 08:38

Etihad using B787 on EY21/22 during February. Confirmed and bookable.

Well, here goes on this rumour network....

I've heard that there's going to be a press conference.

BA taking JFK/ORD back from American from November 2017 apparently. Would be a much better service than AA are currently offering.

Hmmm...I thought BA couldn't make money in the regions. Maybe VS and TCX are starting to eat BA's lunch :)

If it happens I hope its on decent equipment, and not a couple of clapped out 767s that LHR no longer requires.

chaps1954 18th Nov 2016 07:00

Sounds like B787 if they are sending a couple up and as 76s are on way out unlikely

Nice addition to the morning chaos at T3 if true

chaps1954 18th Nov 2016 07:48

No difference because American use T3 anyway and perhaps ground staff might actually know what time they are going to turn up rather than anytime except early

azz767 18th Nov 2016 08:01

I meant more in terms of the extra capacity of the 789.

Mr A Tis 18th Nov 2016 08:21

If true, looks like a BA reaction to Virgin getting their feet well and truly under the table at MAN.

chaps1954 18th Nov 2016 08:29

Not a lot of differnce in summer but winter yes but quiet then anyway

The ORD is only running around 3.5 hours late today. Good result.

TURIN 18th Nov 2016 08:56

Are we not jumping the gun here?

LHR are short of parking space. Could this just be short term winter storage.

eggc 18th Nov 2016 09:06

That's the story as I have been told, a parking deal, from a very trusted source.

What makes no sense is why MAN ? MAN struggles to park its own a/c and there are airfields all across the country with much more space.

chaps1954 18th Nov 2016 09:21

Yes why not Prestwick or DTV and supposedly a press conference as well so that doesn`t
sit well

Quite. Perhaps more lucrative for the airport than being able to accept a few diversions on the odd occasion.
