Completely uninformed crap.

Jet2.com are taking the lead in not accepting anti social behaviour. This has led to many headlines as it is dealt with.

Unlike other airlines which allow people to join the mile high club in row 15, amongst other things...

The problem is the BHX/GRO/BHX flights this year are only on Fridays and Mondays-a recipe for trouble from the weekend louts

I understand the Captain and FA's acted quickly and firmly and got the police to offload the mob at BCN and their return tickets were cancelled.

Not sure what you are trying to say?

If you want to fly with rowdy pax unchecked and unsanctioned, then feel free to fly with any other UK carrier. If you want to fly with an airline that will at least try and reduce the chances of you having an unpleasant flight, doesn't allow swearing, aggressive behaviour and general drunkenness, and bans people who do create a nuisance for others, then fly with Jet2.com.

Your choice.

I was merely saying that Jet2 must have these type of pax, or they wouldn't have needed to take the steps they did, or is it normal for the company to introduce policies to counteract problems they don't have - hold on, thinking of some of the places I've worked, it probably is...

Having flown Thomson, Monarch, Jet2, Ryanair and Easy in the last 5 years, unfortunately awful pax are commonplace. It has nothing to do with the particular airline.

The sad thing is that out of 194 pax, 185 are decent people intent on having a great holiday and travelling peacefully, while the few are absolute animals with no consideration for anyone else, regardless of their age. I have a small child and use that as a measure of what I think is acceptable.

Jet2 is taking a stance on being a family airline where anyone can fly without fear of anti social behaviour. All flights before 8ish are dry, and there's a limit to the number of drinks you can buy.

This behaviour should be praised and recognised for what it is - dealing with anti social scum who couldn't give a toss about anyone else's flight.

If you think that's a bad thing, then as I said earlier, feel free to fly with anyone else.

Jet 2 deal very well with this issue in general. I have seen staff politely asking hen/stag parties at MAN check-in to change T-shirts with offensive slogans out of courtesy to fellow passengers, families, children, OAPs etc.

I think the crux of the policy is that staff have been told that they will be supported by their management if they decide to offload passengers due to unruly behaviour, without fear of being reprimanded for making the flight late. I'm not a total expert but could this be because of the relatively low number of rotations their aircraft do each day meaning lengthly delays for other flights won't be a knock on effect?

The Easyjets of the world may not be as supportive to their staff if they make the 0600hrs departure delayed due to an offload as per my post above. The two we had to suffer a flight with were prime candidates for being dragged off.

Would have to disagree, as I unfortunately find in my travels that is very much a British issue and not just limited to the stag and hen party traffic as I recently found at a trade fair in China. Would be interesting to see some figures on Air Berlin diversions or some Scandinavian carriers on their routes to the Costas for comparison.

I would not go as far as a wholly British problem maybe 99.9 per cent more like. Where I am in southern Spain it is a fairly quiet area although the Madrigals are about to descend for a few weeks but when you are in a bar or a restaurant having a meal and or drink, guess who you can hear above everybody else giving it large - and it is not the Spanish. Roll on the World Cup in Russia next year when the police take no prisoners.

I applaud Jet2 for this stance. In fact, I would encourage them to make SNN their diversion point. There are several judges on the bench at Limerick Court who take an exceptionally dim view of this. Fines in excess of €1000 are the rule, rathe than the exception and some have been imprisioned.

Nice to see mentions of repairs on this thread. Normally the normal suspects would of been all over a Jet2 incident with scap if, beyond economical repair etc etc etc

@cornishsimon - Agree with you.

Working for a Luxembourg 747 carrier we see bigger scrapes than this one and have the birds back in the air in no time.

Unlikely in this case as the a/c is only a couple of years old, and doesn't belong to Jet2.
