CAA prosecutions etc...

Long-haul is going freakishly well. YHM-GLA/LGW looking on time MAN-YYC,YVR was only half an hour late departing today. SFB held back only an hour or so and as you say it does have to go via BFS. Long may it continue!

Delays

! And Its Friday The 13th !

timboab 13th Jun 2008 19:24

SFB flight was held up about 50 mins in glasgow. I think it was loaded on time, who knows the reason?

Lets hope they can keep delays to a minimum

Jimmy Riddle 13th Jun 2008 20:16

Sure....... we can do it....... I'd like to know when we're gonna get a few more skippers......and cabin crew......we can't stand this level of pressure......so much for the 5 on 4 off promised by the DFO.

SBY'S - Delays

From 1st July cabin crew will have airport standby's to cover first flight's of the day so delays due to crew being called out will be a thing of the past.(In Theory) Lets see what happens from the 1st.;)

While checking the Flytecomm arrivals into PIK tomorrow picked this up.

Edinburgh, Scotland Flyglobespan 323A 06:43 PM Planned
Edinburgh, Scotland Flyglobespan 401A 07:03 PM Planned
Edinburgh, Scotland Flyglobespan 561A 07:03 PM Planned
Edinburgh, Scotland Flyglobespan 451A 07:23 PM Planned

What's all that about? Surely not four aircraft training at once? Mistake?

pikman747 14th Jun 2008 22:08

Apparently Edinburgh has a fuel shortage and these 4 flights were routing via Prestwick for this reason. In any event they must have got refuelled as all the flights continued direct.

BALLSOUT 14th Jun 2008 23:10

Fuel short at EDI and GLA. It's being trucked up from PIK as they have plenty.

4567 15th Jun 2008 17:00

How many a/c have GSM got based at EDI,GLA,ABZ & MME and what types of a/c?

luvly jubbly 15th Jun 2008 19:57

Yes I am sure that's what delayed it, cos I was on it!:ok:
We pushed back exactly on schedule at SFB, flew ETOPS at M.80 (econ) and still arrived an hour late into GLA this morning......... Methinks the schedules are too tight:{

GSM Scot...... I think the newly accepted union might put a stop to Airport Standby before it starts, as GSM provide no facilities for it. Telling the CC that they can "spend it in the terminal if they want to" is totally illegal!:ugh:

It is not totally illegal, airport standby is exactly that and your duty hours start as soon as you pitch up.

I think the one which is illegal is SPLIT DUTY, where the airline have to provide somewhere to rest away from all the hustle and bustle, noise etc

Nil further 16th Jun 2008 07:38

Doing something illegal has never been a problem for "Scotlands Award Winning Airline " in the past , shouldnt be a problem now.

Correct. A fair number of airlines use apt sby.

As the job market implodes, you might see some improvements in crew levels, but then again, they might lay guys off.

5 on 4 off. They still trotting that one out? You'll never see it, no matter what state the industry is in.

timboab 19th Jun 2008 15:42

can someone explain why the GLA-SFB-GLA flight has pretty much ran on time this past week or so--What has changed and made them fairly punctual??

Well done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

irishcc 19th Jun 2008 15:48

...Did the YYC-GLA go tech....??

Saw it parked yesterday at YYC - remote stand...engine cowlings open

webby1919 19th Jun 2008 17:28

Yes. B763 went tech over in Canada. Should pick up overnight with a 2 hour delay into MAN tomorrow.

SFB flights have all run on time so far. Most of the flights this week have been on-time or early.

4567 19th Jun 2008 17:40

Which 763 is operating the Canada flights?

Will the BFS-SFB be continued S09?

Any word on GSM getting new 737's to replace the 733's that will be going and the 2 736's that left and another 752?

Hamilton airport must be a base of somekind found these pictures of new offices:

Take up the Hold 19th Jun 2008 19:35
