Especially when the GLA-SFB was an hour late.....

4567 7th Jun 2008 23:57

Lets face it GSM have had much much longer delays than 1 hour.
If they can keep this up things would look much brighter.

The more cynical amongst us might wonder if their "Award winning" tag comes from getting a prize when a flight actually arrives/departs on time...

timboab 8th Jun 2008 11:07

I for one really hope that Globepan can sort out their problems!!!

Is going to be really hard for them to get their planes into Sanford on time!!!

Fingers crossed!!!!

Recent press release about GSM from TD the Chairman and Owner.

Would have made a small profit if they didn't have the costs associated with the Icelandair and Terrorist attack problems.

Summer 08 scaled down, Summer 09 to use bigger a/c to operate Longhaul.

Omanair leased a/c for 1 year, with others in the pipeline for W08. Reason the reduced flights over W08. B736s will be staying now. B733s will be leaving fleet early next year.

Not looking to be sold in near future, GSM want tie-ups with Hotel Chains but no mergers for the airline.

Seems positive outlook for the future.

Is it just the 2 B736 GSM are keepong or are they getting the other 2 back again?

4567 8th Jun 2008 14:36

Will GSM be replacing the 733's and the 2 736's that left earlier for S09?

Doesn't mention anything about his YHM programme and if hes going to aquire another 752 for this route. Though hes not dumping long-haul.

Good that there 3 quarters hedged on fuel.

webby1919 8th Jun 2008 14:36

Just the 2 B736s for now. Any replacements will probably be for 800s/900s.

breagh01 9th Jun 2008 11:29

Let's face it, is FGS did not have the AirIndia oppo they would be well dead and buried !!!

DW11 9th Jun 2008 11:37

This mornings YVR-DUB was almost two hours late. Also see there's people waiting for a DUB-YHM at 12:00 but aircraft hasn't arrived from BRS yet.

Why so quiet Jimmy Riddle?

Jimmy Riddle 10th Jun 2008 05:40

It'll all come out in the wash........maybe......not??

I've been quiet because I'm waiting to hear what excuses TD will give the High Court next month...........to comment on anything I know or have heard from those who were involved at the time.........and one or two have plenty to say.................could be sub judicae and I could get into deep water.....as well as losing my job.
......but I'm thinking we won't get an easy ride........TD.....the man at the very top may have got shot of sacrificial lambs in topping the engineering boss and the director of flight ops.........both of whom I understand are sueing him............but TD WAS the man who pushed to get things done..........and things were done........flight time limitation things............dodgy engineering approvals.......things to get the job done.....but none too kosher things.......required by the boss.....and provided by his people.....
......I just hope it ALL comes out in the wash........but according to at least one former highly placed source.........it's all been far too well hidden .........one person involved has since been promoted for his 'assistance' over a trip........a former ops guy blew the whistle to the CAA and questions were asked about flight time limitations and cabin crew qualifications ........they got the approved answers............apparently !!!! :ugh:

Edited due to the following.........which has itself been edited to avoid identifying the (small minded) individual concerned who pm'd me:

would you please contact me directly within 7 days regarding your posting that I consider Libel. I am willing to to discuss your accusation that in some way I have acted improperly or have been ' bribed' for XXXXXXXX. I am willing to discuss your alleged impropertiy with the CAA in attendance if you wish. I will accept that you have made a mistake or were misinformed and would like to give you the opportunity of removing your accusation. But again I would like some contact within 7 days. I am not willing to let this go at all, and will pursue you through pprune by legal means if necessary.

Is this satisfactory.......:ok: .........this is a rumour network.....:hmm:

See when Rick Green stated in an article GSM would expand transatlantic services and use bigger planes. What does he mean by bigger planes more seating in the 767? With maybe that means they will bring back all 3 of there 767's S09 for long-haul and another 752.

CabinCrewe 10th Jun 2008 19:30

Even Oscar Wilde wouldnt have any witty banter after todays almost compulsory 90 minute Sanford delay. But hey- they made up 10 mins enroute.;)

Skipness One Echo 10th Jun 2008 20:41

WHY are they continually suffering delays. Specifics, no rambling mouth foaming please. Are the B767s unreliable outside India?

Could be, that under the current climate, a walk around is more akin to a heavy maintenance check.

Judgement day tommorow as SFB goes daily hope everthing goes ok.
Which 763 is operating SFB?

Does anybody why GSM plan to keep the 2 736's and get rid of the 733's i would have thought it would be better to have it the other way round or is there a pretty good reason for this?

Anybody know if they are actually planning to get another 752 for next year?

Mr @ Spotty M 11th Jun 2008 21:44

The B736 is NG and the B733 is not, the NGs are more fuel efficient.:ok:
