Channex - RAF TriStar

ash666 5th Feb 2008 18:03

Does anyone know if NCL to Stockholm is on the cards at all for later in the year?

CentreFix25 5th Feb 2008 18:23

Won't happen in my opinion. If they can't sustain routes to Milan, Berlin and Oslo, Stockholm has got no chance.

ash666 5th Feb 2008 18:35

Ok,thanks.
Maybe try via AMS.

ncleflights 5th Feb 2008 18:36

st nicholas - add one more to the list - employees that need to get a grip on reality - are you serious, a few pot holes in the staff car park do not make a third world airport, have you been to a third world or to use the correct terminology an airport in a developing country! I have been to several and to be honest if all they had to sort out were pot holes in the staff car park and a few smelly drains they would be jumping through hoops.

If your not happy I suggest you resign tomorrow, I know of loads of folks who would be happy to work at NCL and put up with the niggles that seem to upset you so much!

HH6702 5th Feb 2008 18:54

i think that flybe will make a good try at things to oslo, stockholm etc
they have the right size aircraft now they just need good times.

FR loads to bgy arent bad they have just got a better deal at man thats all so its cheaper for them to relocate the aircraft there. FR will be back.

GrahamK 5th Feb 2008 19:01

Can't help thinking that if FR got the smaller 737-700, then NCL could see more routes. The 738 is just too big for routes other than Dublin and sunshine destinations.

CentreFix25 5th Feb 2008 19:30

I don't even think BE would fly to Stockholm, no demand - who would go? It would also have to be in a 195, and there are better more lucrative places to send a 195.

FR loads to bgy arent bad
It's not about loads, it's about profit - You could fill a -800 daily to BGY for 1p a seat. If BGY was making a good return for RYR they wouldnt pull it.

I do agree that the -800 is just too big an aircraft for RYR routes out of NCL (unless they did PMI, ALC and AGP).

757 Speedbrakes 5th Feb 2008 19:32

st nicholas : Totally agree, I just brought a new car and I cringe driving in that poxy car park. God knows what it'll be like when the summer season starts again. One of the car park employees has even admitted that they know pax. park in there !!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a third world car park compared to LGW, MAN, LHR with the exception of LBA! Yes I know, I know, at those places you have to get a bus thats 20 mins away from the terminal and they have bigger budgets etc etc

Sorry everyone, rant over! :}

Hows the new tower going by the way??????

Why would it have to be a 195? The Q400 does the main city routes, BHX/MAN-CDG and has operated the MANMXP on occasions. I'm puzzled!

CentreFix25 5th Feb 2008 20:34

NCL-ARN is double the distance of MAN-CDG, just short of 800 miles in a Dash 8. While i'm sure it's possible, I would be happy to bet £10 Flybe won't do it. It would make just as much money, if not more by going to Belfast twice in the same amount of time.

Ops Guy 5th Feb 2008 21:07

When will we be given a dedicated staff channel through security?
Isn't there already one for operational staff??

When will the drains on stand 1 be sorted out?
Have you reported them to the relevant department?

SWBKCB 5th Feb 2008 21:07

From NIA arrivals:

BA1338 21:20 LONDON HEATHROW COACHING FROM LHR :eek:

Anybody know what the problem is and why they haven't just cancelled?

Not with the present loads to BHD it wouldn't.

Distance comparable to BHX-PGF which was a perfectly acceptable and very well-used Q400 route. And FSI have a Q400 sim in ARN - always handy to have a direct company route for any period the Farnborough facilities are maxed out/tech.

HH6702 5th Feb 2008 21:16

its all down to the talks between flybe and airport management.
im sure that if airport want stockholm then they will get it.
maybe a discount on landing fees for a while if they do that route instead of increasing BHD?

JobsaGoodun 5th Feb 2008 21:25

Not ideal in a Q400 but as other posters have said, the aircraft has the legs. Flybe use the Q400 on MANMXP occasionally at 730nm and have used on EXTMJV before at 900nm. The aircraft also regulary does BHD-SZG every weekend during the winter at 940nm.

Granted I'd not necessarily want to be in a Q400 for that long but if they think they can make money with it then they might just give it a go!

lukeylad 5th Feb 2008 21:28

Getting rid of them stupid Jet2 signs is a must they just look tacky!

Fastrack corridor is about all staff have we have to get down to the gates in order to get the pax boarded so just politey ask the pax if you can move infront of them if the scanner is busy! Its quite simple really!

sunshine79 5th Feb 2008 21:37

The NCL-LHR tomorrow morning is cancelled, so is EZY flight to BFS. I also noticed the EZY PRG flight was cancelled today, which is unusual for easyJet. Anyone know why?

mad_rich 5th Feb 2008 22:58

Loads of EZY flights cancelled in the last couple of days. Mostly domestic but a few int as well. Anyone know what the problem is?

CentreFix25 6th Feb 2008 05:58

...there still not going to get a scheduled service to Stockholm any time soon, regardless who operates it.
