Wonder with the weather forecast if there will need to be any snow clearing activities at NCL this weekend

There certainly seems to be a good chance of it. We have some good equipment so we are ready for it!

Although with a dusting of snow there may be a slight delay with the ambulift. It will have to drive slower.:O

It does not suprise me that no one wants to operate out of here
I suggest looking at the end of the Pier at around 12 noon. :ok:

If it's so bad up here you know what you can do

skyman771 21st Mar 2008 17:16

ASH666I note as usual, as soon as someone makes any criticism re NCL whatsoever then off you go adding your 6 penny worth. If everything is so bl**dy marvelous elsewhere that you visit then why don't you simply pack up & go and give us all a rest! When you actually arrive back in the real world I feel sure that sooner or later you will realise that the 'grass is not greener'. NCL has it's share of problems, as do all airports it's just that you don't choose to look for them:ugh:

ash666 21st Mar 2008 17:21

I was waiting for that, very predictable!
However, the grass is greener in a lot of other places. Maybe you should take your head out of the sand and/or travel about a bit more.
My last flight out of NCL had a 6 hour delay which wasn't the fault of NCL at all, but the complete and total lack of information was inexcusable. It took a passenger revolt( not led by me!) to get someone(very reluctantly) to come and explain what was happening.

St Nicholas. Feel free to go if the NE mentality is that bad. You'll not be missed.

transwede 21st Mar 2008 19:17

ash666 out of curiosity what airline were you delayed with and were the pax wanting to speak with someone from the handling agent?

SWBKCB 21st Mar 2008 19:25

Would the average SLF know what a handling agent is? It's the airport which provide departure info in the terminal via the boards etc, so it doesn't seem unreasonable that it's them you'd go to for info. We might know that they can only pass on what they are told, but at times they could be a bit more pro-active in chasing.

ash666 21st Mar 2008 20:01

Transwede
It was a TOM flight. They knew what was going on(a/c trapped in Austria) but PAX not told. The poor girls at the info desk were doing their best with little info themselves but they had a heck of a job trying to get a TOM agent to come and talk to the pax and explain what was happening(same old story of airlines trying to operate with no spare plane). The TOM guy wasn't much use when he did turn up.

sunshine79 21st Mar 2008 20:45

Anyone know where TOM3094 AGP-NCL was diverted to? All I know is that coaches arrived to NCL with pax on 15 minutes ago. I also see J2 have a nice little 7 hour delay to ORK. Are both these flights due to the weather?

mmeteesside 21st Mar 2008 20:51

TOMfly diverted to Edinburgh

lukeylad 21st Mar 2008 22:22

The TOM made 2 attempts to land at NCL then diverted to EDI.

Long story cut very short for the Jet2 Delay 1 737 damaged last night flew to Leeds for Repair.

LO the other 737 went tech this afternoon towed remote fixed, which lead to a crewing delay, new crew sourced, LO flew the delayed 103 to LGW has since returned to NCL and to operate the ORK.

ash666 21st Mar 2008 23:08

roll on the day(as if!) when airlines are not allowed to operate with no a/c cover.

Channex101 21st Mar 2008 23:15

ash666.... i know where you coming from but sometimes its easier to operate with a delay, not saying its the best way around it though.
I know for a fact today there was at least 2 Jet2 737s not flying but i dont know why they were not sent in to do ORK, im assuming if it was a spanish route there would have been another unit sent up.

It was a TOM flight. They knew what was going on(a/c trapped in Austria) but PAX not told.
So it was the afternoon GVA ski flight on 1 Mar ?, thankfully I used the same flight a week later on time as normal;);). I think perhaps you are simply the most unlucky traveller in the N.E. judging by your posts:E. As you are such 'an experienced' traveller you of all persons then should realise that in any delay anywhere then the standard procedure is to say as little as possible, and that the ONLY thing I agree with on your post is that this 'lack of passenger management' is the most frustrating part of any delay, but is as often as not the result of no one being able to identify the length of the likely delay at the outset.
What you did however miss out on is using your own initiative in addressing the estimated arrival time of the delayed inbound which may have given some albeit unwelcome insight.
Anyhow your posting should really be addressed on some other forum re handling agents !, and not used as yet another opportunity to have a blast at NCL.
N.b. Was the flight actually delayed 6 hours? I thought it was more like 4 hours, I trust this was not another example of you exaggeration:ugh:

skyman771 22nd Mar 2008 10:40

Heathrow I see 'London Airways' have canx today's BA1332/3. Yet again they are taking the p**s ! A quick look at the BAA flight arrivals info for T1 suggests that this is the ONLY inbound flight canx. today ! Interesting one for the conspiracy theorists :suspect:

DL93 22nd Mar 2008 10:48

does any one know what the damage too the jet2 737 was??

ash666 22nd Mar 2008 12:13

Skyman:
The delay was actually nearer 6.5hrs (14.20 to almost 21.00) so please make sure of your facts before accusing me of exagerating. My "exagerations" in the past have been simple fact reporting, only exagerations to those who don't wish to hear such things.

With no information forthcoming how on earth was I supposed to "address the estimated arrival time of the delayed inbound"? If anyone could estimate that they would have given us a reliable departure time instead of just putting it back every 2 hours.

AviationNE 22nd Mar 2008 15:10

JEt 2 damage

Jet2 LY was damaged Belt Loader collided with rear hold. Big Dent although the skin was not ripped. Substantial damage with Metal plates that reinforce around back hold apparently ripped off.

DL93 22nd Mar 2008 15:15

RE jet2 damage

owch! sounds like a nice bill for swissport!

whats going on today with the mvt's TOM with a 6-7 hour delay MYT 5 hours delay?!!? surely the weather cant have that much effect on the departures when other A/C are leaving ontime
