BA have been flying the very old A380's on the LHR-JNB route now for it seems like 15 years and the interiors are looking very shabby. Does anyone know if there are any plans to upgrade?

I do this trip 2-3 times a year and its becoming more and more noticeable

Many Thanks

“Very old”? Those airframes first flew in 2013! They are due a mid-life refurb which is just about to kick off.

While not particularly old, those planes desperately need that refurb. The state of my seat and the area around it on my last flight was terrible. Along with the delay caused by some technical problem which according to the crew is very common for the BA A380s now.

I would totally agree. They appear to push their refurbishment longer than other carriers.
Cheers

There’s nothing like BA consistency with it’s app and website!
Need to amend a booking, as usual the app cannot find the booking and when attempting to access via the website in the ‘Manage my booking section’, it informs me to go to the airport to acquire my boarding pass!
I need to change the flight and I can’t even do that!

Wtf is going on?! Where is this new and improved app they keep promising us?!
How the hell BA keep making profits and keep up the high load factors when simply problems like this can’t be fixed is totally beyond my comprehension!

If you don't know the answer, book with someone else or use a travel agent which is quite often cheaper and they will do the leg work for you.

This is exactly the reason I’ve stopped flying BA. I just cannot deal with their awful IT interface when booking or amending bookings. It’s amateur at best. It’s a far cry from the once “World’s favourite airline”!

I’m not sure I understand your reply, but anyway, why should I book with a travel agent when all other airlines in Europe and beyond manage to let customers book with a stable and functional website and / or app?!
BA should be no different and yet to perform such a simple change seems to be an unnecessarily stressful event!

Club Europe upgrades

Flying Economy tomorrow with BA. I've been offered the 'upgrade' on BA.com via manage my booking for the sum of £561 per person. Same flight booked separately is £261; forgive my ignorance but why so much more as an upgrade rather than just buying a whole new ticket? Or just another BA con/technical issue?
