Same as before! I'm sure the captain had double pants on getting it back to LGW, seriously captain a professional getting it back.

Pau, Warsaw, Rovenemi and Aqaba are new airports for EasyJet.

may Be others but these are the ones I know of.
So there are supposed to be 21 - I can't find them, and I'm not 100 certain on all of these:

Berlin TXL - Basel
Berlin SXF - Athens
Berllin SXF - Paris CDG
Berlin SXF (not TXL) - Aquaba
Amsterdam - Fuerteventura
Nice - Tenerife South

Wonder why this has escaped the attention of the media? BA are often in the news for lesser technical returns. How has this one been missed?

Nantes base

Not sure if it's been mentioned on here before but looks as though Nantes will be easyJet's next base. They're hiring for crew for the S19 season.

Surprised with Aqaba, although I suppose they’re trying to fill the Petra tourist market. They couldn’t get Amman to work a few years ago, which is a regional hub and has a far bigger market. Big fuel burn with potentially not a huge amount of yield.

It's only 1x per week on a Saturday, so different market to Amman. I would have thought there would be a subsidy for flying there - and possibly a commitment from a tour operator to help fill the aircraft.

I imagine it's highly likely the Jordanians have seen the number of tourists visiting Morocco and Israel and decided they want a piece of the action. Excluding APD, some days fares are about 40 pounds one way for a 5 hour flight - must be a big chunk of subsidy involved somewhere...

Ryanair and Norwegian are also starting flights to Aqaba from elsewhere in Europe on almost the same date as Easyjet which seems a bit of a coincidence

Problematic G-UZHI

Following its ongoing problems the a/c has now positioned LGW-TLS for attention.

When will the full 2019 summer schedules be released? There is a continuing rumour on SOU thread that a Summer service to PMI is on the cards...
