The rumours are indeed correct and whilst not unexpected, i feel are completely unnecessary. Even with the more recent less colourful 'close to you' branding update being used online and as part of passenger print material, the livery still stands out amongst the crowd. It also enabled Flybe to make use of the colours again in the future. It was only 4 years ago when this current purple livery was rolled out and it still hasn't managed to become uniform across the whole fleet by any means. I don't expect this revised one to roll out much quicker, even if it is just the removal of the vivid colour bands.

The only reason for the update i can presume, is that the more simplified purple / lilac tone livery and 'close to you' branding saves money on paint and and other printing material ?

Seems this is the new livery.

Basically very similar to Eastern's livery on their E170s.

I can't remember if it was someone on this forum that quipped "faster than walking" but it has come to mind everytime I see their 'proper' slogan.

Basically very similar to Eastern's livery on their E170s.
And very similar to the Bombardier house livery for the Q400, with blue replaced by purple.

Not bad but would definitely replace the small purple logo at the front with a larger one across the windows much like the previous scheme, otherwise the white looks too bland!

Does anyone know why you cannot access the timetable via the Flybe website at the moment? It's been like that for couple of days.

The layout of the new website suggests there is a timetable but when you click on the link it doesn't appear. When I queried this with Flybe they seemed unaware of the fact but said they would "look into it".

Wow! Completely agree. Got to hope perhaps that this first aircraft will be having a special sticker / promotional titles applied once back in Exeter and that the actual livery will indeed look like the above ?

I'm guessing it'll be the remaining white aircraft that will be repainted in the new livery, rather than the ones that are already purple, at least initially?

Removing the Embraer 195s Saads Plan, the fleet review Would of happened regardless of who was CEO. Along with many other balls up I fail to see anything remarkable she has achieved within her first year of office, other than rebranding a company that didn't need rebranding.

What we have gone from is a brand identity that is already rolled out across airport, aircraft, staff and internal, to a pervy sounding slogan, rubbish looking livery and a CEO paid of £400K a year! Mark my words she won't be the CEO any longer than another 18 months.
You can add mass exodus of senior staff as well to that list.

Why do I get the feeling that when Flybe’s reputation takes a harder bashing than normal they just repaint the planes. It’s what Saad did when he took over. Really am not keen on the shade of purple......and it’s a bit boring.

edit: have seen that there is a paler shade of purple underneath the darker shade which makes it look nicer.

I thought I'd seen it all but then this came along. If a rebrand is so important to your company's position in the market, you launch it and get on with it. A rebrand which the press reports say will take seven years to complete so as to minimise the impact on finances sounds like the management don't believe it needs to be done - a real question of lack of authority to carry through a change. Setting aside the fact I think it looks insipid - particularly the light purple bit which is almost invisible - then the way in which this is being conducted will just perpetuate the multitude of Flybe liveries out there and the associated brand confusion. Ridiculous on all counts - better to have done nothing at all than a compromise of this nature which suits no-one. It's just weak and ineffective.

Three liveries on the go at once, the sign of a business in a bad spot.
