Are there plans to redesign the check-in/land-side area?

Since MAG re-jigged the terminal the check-in area has lost it's spacious feel and all that white plaster board they seem to have invested in is pretty hideous.

This seems courageous, in the Sir Humphrey meaning of the word.

To me having six or seven airlines flying to one destination however popular, borders on the downright stupid.I can only vouch that this year there did not seem as many Brits on the CdeSol as in previous years. It will all end in tears for somebody and it won't be EZY, FR and LS - too deep pockets.

For the latest airline to be the number 6 player on a route I agree this is maybe a surprising move.
In the bigger picture I think this kind of thing is rather good - it tests the depth of the market and will make everyone aware that even London to the Spanish beaches is not a supply of unlimites profitable revenue. Should wake everyone out of their stupor and remind chief commercial officers of the importance of product innovation - namely have something unique to sell (eg an unserved route) rather than the same as everyone else

I think we need to give primera some credit on these routes not only do they know this market very well but I’m convinced the ALC and AGP routes were chosen high density destinations to get the brand and transatlantic destinations known by the unknowing traveling public if they sell all seats at rock bottom so they cover costs only they will have over 300 people a day seeing the transatlantic destinations on offer at bag drop and like I said before I hope primera have overhead bin advertising destinations like Jet2 and I’m sure the inflight magazine will be covered in Newyork Boston and Toronto and I wouldn’t be surprised to see inflight scratch cards with prizes to the above destinations not only that how many people a day use flight companion sites if prices are kept below all others this will drive potentially 1000s to the primera website and again 100’s of 1000’s will see low prices across the pond so maybe these sun routes are no more than an advertising platform
Very new and clever way to filter massive amounts of traffic through your website.

Construction has begun on the previously announced £11m Technical College on site at STN.
In conjunction with local councils/colleges & MAG it will work with 500 students per year,
many of which MAG hope will find employment opportunity at STN.

Mainly aimed at Engineering and technical skills. Was at the conference held today. Quite interesting to find out this has been about 4 years in the making.
On a side note MAG is going to make another big investment to Stansted with a £600 million pounds over the coming years.

compton3bravo.
With all the effort/negotiation/time & £££ put into this project to benefit students with careers, skills & life chances & adding to the local economy I really do feel you should have directed your ribaldry elsewhere.Even with you stating it was a "joke" re-reading with context does not make it work any better I`m afraid.

He's way funnier than you x #lightenup

Come on you know how this works. It burns through a lot of money to build up a new market, successful airlines tend to muscle in and make the other guy less relevant.
Think American and United vs. Pan Am and TWA or Norwegian and easyJet vs. Monarch.
Mass market dominance is the prize that's worth going for, niche is exactly that, limited growth potential whereas muscling into an existing market can have huge rewards. I remember when easyJet dipped their toe into the waters of BA's then Fortress Gatwick. They did it whole lot better than BA and the rest is history.
It will all end in tears for somebody and it won't be EZY, FR and LS - too deep pockets.
This is what LS are doing in London, they're not growing the market per se, they're poaching existing clientele from one of the other carriers who fit the Jet2 model better.

Correct about Jet2 and it is working well for passengers who have had to use Ryanair but wanted a little more customer service Jet2 are doing a brilliant job at Stansted and long may it last.

And also maybe wanting an alternative to the package holiday market, where customers have had to put up with TCX / TUI for long enough. That was one of the main reasons for LS moving 'down south'

hehe Skipness One Echo...
Anyways apart from picking people off how do you account for the 1.4m seats EXS are putting into the STN market for Summer18 with Summer 16 at zero. Are you seriously contending this is all poached from incumbents?.
Readers are aware your business acumen & forecasting is primarily based around mining business travel stats & attempting projections accordingly & of course very very LHR centric.
Not yet having those MBNA qualifications you entreated all to get before we could criticize a totally failing for all to see top management at MON back in late September there are several questions for you.
1...Inherent in your work do you feel you are constantly looking backward & therefore failing to see the newer models?.
2...Back in the day & for instance then would you have forecast the rise of an Irish airline with one EMB110 to well over 400 Boeings & counting.
3...Would you have predicted the rise of the "big" alliances(tho they are of course the real grist to your mill)...& do you predict now their general demise?.
4...Oh & as you pick up EXS would have advised or even strong armed PM into putting the 1.4m seats in next summer? from zero a year ago.
Not being a humourist or an MBNA they are tho genuine questions. Ta.)
