No commercial passenger ops would be even more of an anti-competitive move. Removal of the competition at PIK will allow GLA to charge airlines more. Not exactly good for the passenger.

The competition commission report is over a decade old (first draft 2009) - things have changed significantly, airlines go where they want not where Airports or Operating Co's tell them. The report was regarding ownership of airports with 7 figure pax throughput. What has PIK got yearly?
Ryanair go where they want, and will chop and change as suits them- as all Scottish Airports have seen over recent years. They're interest in PIK however is more than just pax ops now.
2x Ryanair 737s analogy is like saying Sainsbury's cant take over Asda because of two shops - it would/will have no influence on any review. AGS, if the buyer, are unlikely to spend millions, develop new terminals, offer low cost incentives and create sudden draw at PIK- if you're unclear and worried about that potential, its perhaps worth doing some more research.
Current Scottish Government debt and interference did not feature 10 years ago but will certainly now influence issues during any likely upcoming 'fire sale' to offload.
I presume you'll be writing to the competition commission should Ryanair decide to move their 2x PIK 737's to Edinburgh?

Some good news for the airport, albeit under dreadful circumstances.
I'm surprised Ryanair haven't suspended all their flights, considering all of them are to Italy and Spain barring Faro.

Prestwick - The End?
It would appear the proposed sale of the airport has fell through.
Add to that aircraft not being allowed to do circuits due to the condition of the runway
and the Canadian Air Force moving to Belfast, it is looking bleaker by the day.

The deal, as far as I am lead to believe was signed off prior to the start of the new financial year.
What has happened? Who knows, but on the face of it, it doesn`t look good.
And with the Scottish administration having to put there money elsewhere in the coming months and probably
years due to the fallout from the CV-19 epidemic,the case for Prestwick remaining as it currently is, I would say
is doubtful to say the least.

Fell through has it? News to me - delayed, yes and possibly some reconsiderations given the present climate but 'fell through' ? And you should always take what The Scotsman says with a pinch of salt when it comes to PIK.
There have been a number of RAF and Loganair training flights recently as well as the Cargo 747s and 777s continuing to use the main runway so not sre where you got the news about the state of the runway.
Yes, Canadians have been using BFS on occasion (I gather due to lack of hotel accommodation at PIK) but they were in recently on 'gas an gos' so again not entirely accurate information.

2 more CAF C-17`s into BFS tonight. It has been decidedly more than "on occasion".
Accommodation wasn`t a problem for the Kuwait or the Qatari air forces recently.
