The winter focus remains TATL, it just switches to the Caribbean and Goa. There is the short series of flights to Cape Town, but one would hope they may extend this next winter, there is certainly demand.

I think a city like Seattle which is home to companies such as Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon and Starbucks can be considered a serious business centre. A very welcome addition to the Manchester departure boards.
Interesting that they're casting their net wide by adding extra 2 or 3 weekly frequencies rather than building/increasing on existing routes. I suppose it's more suited to the VFR market they're chasing

I suppose TCX are building the foundations.
Start by adding the markets you want to serve (especially before anyone else gets there), then, when the routes start doing well, add in extra flights. Look at JFK. Started 3 weekly now daily, LAX and BOS went from 2 to 3 weekly (granted its only a small increase but walk before you run).
I'm hearing this isn't the only new USA route for 2018 though, with potentially 2 more to come.

Guess Icelandair will have to drop those £1000 airfares a touch to compete.
Condor's only (S18) daily FRA service is to SEA. Next they have 5 weekly to LAS and YVR (Vancouver), and 4 weekly to ANC, YYC (Calgary), YHZ (Halifax), YYZ (Toronto)
Others notables are Austin, Baltimore, LAX, MSP, New Orleans, PHX, PIT, Portland and SFO. Lot of West Coast on their network.

Condor don't serve SFO, it's just a TCX route. Same as LAX.
Who would have thought even 5 years ago that we would have lnon stop links to Seattle, Los Angeles and San Fransisco at once?

MANtlantic prospects
So we lost Washington D.C but are gaining Washington State!
Great to see the good news stories on the Atlantic continuing despite the concerns over the impact of the £/$ and Trump. TCX seem to be steaming ahead, boosted by the code shares and transfer traffic which is quite a factor on some flights. No existing routes / frequencies dropped to make way for this new route?
Do we know anything about Virgin's plans for Summer 18 yet? Sharing the market with TCX on BOS and SFO still feels a little fragile. If only they could operate on different days that would be an improvement.
SQ's Houston is producing big pax numbers but not sure about revenues. Some really good transfer traffic connecting at MAN from/to wherever. One wonders though if they decide that SIN-IAH is not worthwhile use of a frame, how that might impact SIN-MAN?
AA B787 return on ORD is a welcome development and much needed to give that route some credibility.
Anyone worked out how many US destinations MAN will have and how that compares with LHR and other EU hubs?

I understand the MAN-IAH sector is above expectations and have it on good authority that MAN-SIN is good for standalone if required.

People want cheap fares, airlines provide them by cutting payments to airports, airports have to make the money back somehow, so encourage bar and duty free sales.
People don't like drunk pax, airlines introduce steps which will reduce bar and duty free sales so what do the airports do now?

Incidentally my Sunday Ryanair flight was fine, mostly couples with infant children & flight home last evening with Vueling one home was fine too.

Thomas Cook have added some more flights to the long haul network for next summer.
Looking at a week in August, we have the following:
Boston goes 4 weekly up from 3 weekly (June is 5 weekly)
Las Vegas has a 5th weekly added.
Orlando has its Tuesday 2nd daily moved to a Saturday.
8 A330 required on Thu/Sat/Sun with more changes to come.
