Isn't the A332 operating the (the majority of the 16 weekly) flights right now? From winter it should be all B788.

It's currently a B787 on the morning and evening flights, and B77W on the afternoon flights.

They seem to upgrade the afternoon flights at short notice, so, I wouldn't put much emphasis on what's in the timetables at this stage.

Routesonline reported today that Qatar ex MAN will be all B787 effective October '16 - this is just one of a number of route/aircraft changes announced today by QR

That is correct, however as said, MAN seems to be one of those stations where it doesn't always run as what is notified in advance, seeing the B77W/B77L/A332/A333/B787 all scheduled at short notice.

Is the plan to go as close to all B788 ops at MAN or are the B77W still scheduled?

B777 scheduled into September thus far, but does get updated quite late on so there is every chance the B77W will continue through October and beyond.

The schedule originally published by QR for Summer was for an all A333 operation. But the vast majority of flights have been operated by B787/B77W/B77L and hardly an Airbus to be seen !
Now QR has published all B787 for the Winter perhaps we'll see a few more Airbuses !!
Having used them myself this summer I have no complaints - perfect flights regardless of type.

Interesting Bank Holiday stat.

The MEN is bellowing a throughput of 390k this week end in its usual "bank holiday slot".

Interestingly Stansted is only shifting 180k.

Just struck me as odd that whilst we are neck and neck in the annual figures the bank holiday figure are less than half.

Manchester passenger throughput

I suggest that there is double counting going on and the figures comprise both departing and arriving passengers.

Turkish has announced major schedule cuts all over its network for the winter. For MAN it's a reduction from 19 to 14 weekly.

Not surprising under the circumstances unfortunately. There will be a lot of TK aircraft parked this winter.

Bagso. If you had a greater knowledge of the airport you would know that its passenger throughput is very seasonal. Much more so than most. Stansted included. It seems odd you don't know this basic fact, yet seem to feel qualified to spout off about every conceivable issue you think may affect its performance. Surely you have to understand basic facts like these before your poor man's private eye style rants can have any credibility?

Some "news" for you is that this seasonality may start to be reduced with Jet2 for example offering a bigger winter schedule than ever and Ryanair not cutting winter schedules as severely here
as at Stansted. On the flip side transatlantics seem to be getting ever more Summer focused.

At least you're talking about the airport for a change though!!

Never criticise MAN on this site....you'll only get flamed, and even threatened...after all it is a wonderful airport

It's only for the winter and part of what can only be described as massive worldwide cut backs from TK. EDI, BHX, LGW in the UK also suffering reductions. A lot of spare metal they will have this winter. The situation in Turkey seems like it is having quite an effect on TK.

Yes the late night rotation TK1491/1492 has been chopped for the winter. The other two daytime services still planned to be daily with A321s.

As an aside quite a few TK A330s scheduled between now and first week of September presumably due end of school holiday demand
