For 2017, VS are again increasing BGI to three weekly from late July to end of August. Only a few extra flights, but every little helps.

Probably using the downtime of the extra aircraft used for the LAS flights. They did say they were going to try and increase utilisation of that aircraft, even if it is just a few short weeks.

Currently has 4 days doing nothing at MAN, so, an extra BGI will help. Wonder what else they may add?

Wonder who dictates VS/DL network expansion these days. Do they have a joint committee or something? Noticed that DL have added a GLA-JFK run from S17 and made a big play of it being part of their VS/DL network (VS GLA-MCO once in a blue moon).

Hainan have really gone to town on the Manchester launch.

They have just repainted an A333 in a special 'Manchester' scheme, and will be used for the inaugural on Friday.

Don't think they have done that for any other new long haul route before?

Which aircraft are American running on JFK route now are they 767-300 and are they the ones with the new cabins or does it depend on your flight ?

I wonder if someone could help me here...?
When I flew out from MAN the other day I saw a 747 parked up with a kind of red dotted colour scheme towards the rear. Couldn't get a good view of it as I was in an 'A' seat on a widebody and it was only really visible on the starboard side.
Is this a new exotic service? I have never seen that aircraft scheme before.

That would be the Rossiya 747 that's just been painted by Air Livery - it was formerly with Transaero

BA long-haul flights from Manchester “not on immediate radar”

Two organisations who see things very differently and have done for along time now.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

On another forum, it is suggested by a reliable and informed source that BA long haul from MAN is not as far fetched as some might think. Nothing for some time though...

Good to note that more route development is in the pipeline.

I thought that had been kicked into 2017 due to slots at PVG?

Most likey alternate options are Xi'an (Hainan) and Guangzhou (China Eastern).
