MANCHESTER 1
AA via MIA would be popular for South American connections, which LHR is quite light on direct links to, although if EI start DUB-MIA next year as expected that could prevent it, Oneworld back scratching and all that. Who knows.
AA
Problem with AA is their punctuality especially the ORD and JFK which are frequently delayed by hours which means missed connections. With competition increasing they really need to sort that out. Perhaps the 787 on ORD will help.

Seriously the peak European departure window at JFK is something to behold - Knock effect delay of the Chicago if the flights are W over Manchester.

Well I hope that AA have resolved their B787 issues if they are to make ORD work and introduce DFW...
Turning back to LAX, I think VS will dip their toe sooner rather than later. I understand that TCX are doing well, and the market seems to be solidifying.
I had hoped that ANZ would do a west coast-MAN route at some point. Think it was seriously considered at one point but rather like Thai lots of rumour and little actual movement.

I wanna be a MAN hub!
The MAN-USA hub showed its strength again today with 76 transfers joining the VS Las Vegas and 24 joining the Orlando. American and Delta had a few too.

AA JFK back to B752 for winter, DL/TCX impact?, presume ORD was a B752 last winter so no change?

Don't know exactly which transfers are being made, only the numbers on each flight, Flybe have a lot of MAN transfers but some of these are Flybe-Flybe. Quite a lot of transfer pax on Scandinavian flights and I suspect that many are linking with USA services at MAN.

Wasn't Miami operated in the winter to allow Brits to take cruises departing there?
With regard to transfer pax, it does seem that these newer flights are doing well. Would be interesting to see if transfers are increasing. Surely they are?!?

They did initially but reverted back to B767 much earlier this year especially JFK and
infact ORD did not run for about 3 months because of the problems they had with B757
on that route.

I'm not sure, I'm booked with AA to fly to ORD in October and it's saying its being operated by a 763, not best pleased at the moment as I was hoping it would be on a 788 by then.

Hi Everyone - long time viewer but new poster here.
On the subject of Flybe - Flybe transfers at MAN, I recently had this dubious pleasure when travelling AMS-MAN-IOM. So off the flight from AMS and following the signs we end up in a small, deserted transfer lounge where we have to wait for a bus. After 10 minutes wait we notice a sign saying that we have to pick up a telephone and call for a bus. After another 10 minutes the bus arrives and takes us to a dedicated security area.
It would have been faster simply to exit at the main border control and re-enter through the main security area. And the bus driver admitted as much.
Anyway, despite remaining air-side the whole time we are subject to a further - very rigorous - security check. I happen to mention to the chap giving me the rub down that we'd been searched at Amsterdam not 90 minutes earlier. "Humph", he said, "but we do things properly here".
Implying that in Amsterdam they don't?
